Comfort Suites Miami Airport North??

I feel like this is too good to be true, so I want to double check with the experts here. We are booked on the 10/17 Wonder sailing. We are looking at flying into Tampa (to visit family for a night) on 10/15. We would rent a car in Tampa, then drive down to Miami on the evening of 10/16. I've been stressing how to return the rental and get to the port (there are five of us, trying to avoid paying for taxis, etc), but then it dawned on me that if I found a hotel with free airport shuttle, we could just return the rental at the airport, take the airport shuttle to the hotel, and then get from the hotel to the port in the morning. I found the Comfort Suites Miami Airport North, which says they have a free airport shuttle and free shuttle to port (called to verify we are all free, no charge for more than 2 people, etc) and looks great. The room is only $119 plus tax. Am I missing something, or will this totally work? I have been stressing for days about how to return the car and get to the port, and this feels too easy (I mean, several steps, but doable). Thoughts? Is there an easier/cheaper way to do it? Our return flight will be out of Ft. Lauderdale, so planning that we'll book SAS or another shuttle service for that part.

Just don't use Miami Executive Shuttle. We paid them and they never picked us up. Found out through Miami Police they were a fraudulent company. Carnival described their scam on their website. They were recommended by Triple A.

This looks like a good deal to me, especially if they have complimentary transportation to the port. Like you said, it's a few extra steps, but in theory should save you money. We have SAS transportation all set to pick us up from our hotel and take us back to FLL on our return, they were great at answering all of my questions. Good luck with whatever you choose!

We stayed there last April (doing so again next April) and YES it's a great deal. FREE airport shuttle. FREE shuttle to the port. CHEAP hotel rate! FREE breakfast!

You'll be within walking distance to Subway and McDonald and a mini mart.

The only downfall with the FREE port shuttle is their timing. We had a 1030 PAT and it was well after noon when we finally arrived at the port. So if that's a big deal then you might want to consider a cab to the port? That's we're doing next year.

I HIGHLY recommend this place.

I have a reservation there for next April. After reading about it on mousesavers.com it was just too good to pass up.

We just stayed there May 1 ( Wonder to Cal). The hotel was clean, Nice free breakfast, and free shuttle to the port. Be sure you sign up for the shuttle when you check-in. They where very helpful and you are not packed on the shuttle. We will be staying there in the future. The hotel was complete booked with Wonder Panama People.

consider using the rental car to drop off family and luggage at the hotel before returning the car to the airport. That way you only have one person getting on the shuttle and NO luggage (and you can save a dollar or two in tips).

In Miami the rental car return is "away" from the airport. There is a Monorail / lite rail shuttle between the airport and rental car return. then it's a walk to the actual airport. No bags will make this process easier. Heck when you check in at the hotel, you might be able to have them pick you up at the rental car location.

We stayed there for one night before our cruise this past April. Clean room and pleasant staff. Would definitely stay there again. As another poster wrote, be sure to sign up for the shuttle when you check in and yes, it's free. Our shuttle was either 10:30 or 10:45 and it made one stop on the way to to the port. Got there around noon which was fine for us. Hopefully you can find a reliable shuttle to Ft. Lauderdale. We rented a car at the Miami airport and drove to Tampa to visit family and flew home from there.

We stayed there last year and it was clean, convenient, good value and we would stay there again. Here's a tip: if you are signed up for their points program they give you two drink tickets. And when we were there their cruise package included a bottle of wine.
