I checked Tripadvisor and the ratings were great! I would like to hear from some Disers who have actually stayed there. We got a rate of $71.00 (w/o tax) for April and was wondering if that was good.

How far are we from the WDW parks? Was it clean and well kept? How was the pool? ANYTHING you can tell me would be helpful!! Thanks!

We stayed here last year for 5 nights. Overall, I liked the hotel (if you search my past posts, you will see a post on this hotel from last year). Clean, nice accomodations, nice pool area with a large hot tub the little ones can go in too. However, I would request a room on the bottom floor, the elevators are SLOW, small, and busy. We were on the top floor, and while the view was nice, I hated taking the elevators due to the above reasons. Breakfast was chaotic, but that was to be expected. I think the rate I got last year was $50 a night, but I think $71 a night is still a really good deal. Also, make sure if you want to do laundry you bring your own quarters, because they have no change machines, the front desk never had any, and neither did the pool bar.
I would not hesitate to stay here again :)
Have fun!

Stayed there for one night a few weeks ago, had the $71 rate. Very clean motel. Sits off of Highway 192 so it does not have the traffic noise from the road. It is a very short walk to Old Town if you need to do a little shopping, eating or get a drink. We stayed on top floor on rear side of building overlooking pool and wooded area, I don't know if rooms around us were occupied but it was very quiet. Continental breakfast was nice, did get busy in dining area but had no trouble finding a table. Small bar area outside adjacent to the pool.

We stayed there because of the good reviews and rate. A bonus was easy access to Disney property. We went to Disney Studios and by taking Osceola Parkway to South International Drive and then short distance on 192 trip from Studios parking lot to motel was about 10 minutes.

we stayed there last year and will be back next month, the hotel is perfect for us, very clean, more room then a regular size, it has microwave and coffemaker, 10 minutes from the parks, of course it isn t a de luxe or a resort but i guess worth the money. Feel free to ask any specific question.

how come the rates on trip advisor for the end of feb early march are around $95?

thanks,

We stayed there over Thanksgiving of 2002. The elevators were the only negative. The continental breakfast was great: fresh fruit, juices, bagels, waffles (pre-made), cereal, hard boiled eggs. Room was spacious, we are family of five, 2 teenagers at the time, and we had plenty of room.

My family stayed there in May for 8 nights. First let me say before you read my review that I would definitely stay here again!! There were some issues which I've listed below but nothing drastic that would keep me from staying there a second time.

My family found it comfortable and the breakfast was good to take back to our room when it was too busy in the dining area and really stretched our food budget. We even sneaked up some extra yogurt cups and bananas for snacks which was handy! Shhh don't tell! We were also on the 7th floor and it was quiet, didn't hear our neighbors through the wall at all. We were not near the elevator however...I could hear people talking as they walked by our door so I would imagine the elevator rooms are a little louder. Here's a tip - any rooms with a whirlpool tub are next to the elevator (per the reservations desk). Maybe they are set up to not be loud (I didn't go into one) but when I asked the girl that very question she admitted they were probably a little louder than other rooms. But who cares - you've got a jacuzzi!!

The dryers on the 7th and 6th floors do not work, at least they didn't when we were there. I mean they worked but they took a really long time to dry, like 3+ hours! I finally gave up and went to the 4th floor and that one worked great. Here's another tip - prop open the laundry room door when the dryer is being used. The dryers aren't vented for outside air so they just suck in all the humid air over and over so guess what - the clothes don't dry! Propping the door open with the trash can really seemed to help.

Yes the elevators were a bit slow but we got used to them. I found the room cleaned perfectly each day except for the last day where they didn't do such a great job but overall we were very pleased. The housekeeping staff even left my children's stuffed animals in funny poses, my son's monkey was hanging from a lamp that was mounted on the wall for example. This was a nice touch and just like what Disney does at their resorts. Bathroom was clean and big enough for someone to take a shower and two others at the mirror/sink all at the same time.

Beds we found quite comfortable and extra pillows and blankets are in the closet. Microwave and fridge were a godsend. There are no utensils so we grabbed a few extras from the breakfast area.

Pool hours are (I think) 24 hrs a day and it was warm when we were there. There is no lifeguard. There is also a bar out there. So put booze together with a 24 hr pool and you have kind of loud pool parties at times during the nights. Not all nights certainly, but sometimes. My daughter is 12 and was a little intimidated to go into the pool at one point as was I when the hot tub was full of rowdy teenagers. My husband on the other hand didn't care about it at all and had no trouble going in with my son. Maybe it's a girl thing lol! So I can imagine that a poolside room on a lower floor might be louder than another location. Again i didn't go in to those rooms, just making an assumption. Daytimes in the pool, no problems whatsoever!

Always had room for parking no matter how late we got back. This hotel in near Old Town which is kind of neat, antique car nights are there on certain nights. Here is a great thing about this hotel which has nothing to do with it at all! Old Town has this absolutely huge slingshot type ride with huge colored pillars that point right up into the sky. At night when you are groggy coming home from the parks and you have a tendency to get lost like we do, we found it so great to just watch for those pillars to know where our hotel was! They can be seen from really far away so it was kind of comforting!

I know I wrote a lot but if you have any other questions just let me know!

LuckySadie, what a great review! Thanks! How long did it take to get to the WDW parks, especially MK if you can remember :) ? We usuually stay on site but this place got such great reviews and its April so everything is up in price. If we can get a decent AP discount on a moderate we may switch, but we'll see.

Anything else you can think of PLEASE write away. I love reading others opinions. Thanks again :sunny: .

I never really paid much attention to be honest, but if I had to guess I'd say that from the time we got into our car to the time we were pulling into the MK (or other WDW parks) parking lot was probably 15 mins. This doesn't count traffic which may back up if you go to the parks at a popular time of day. We are night owls so we tended to sleep in and not leave for the parks til about 9am, so we missed the morning rush. The thing about staying off site for MK is that you have to take the ferryboat or monorail after you park. This adds a lot of time if you have to wait, sometimes 15-20 mins. Kind of a pain. When leaving the MK after fireworks, expect up to an hour wait to board either transportation back to parking.

Hope this helps - and have fun!!

We stayed here last October for 2 weeks and enjoyed it. We would stay here again. The rooms were spacious for our family of 6 and my kids liked the variety of the breakfast buffet.

Like pp stated, it's about 10-15 min from the parks. We always went early and never hit traffic so it seemed closer to me.
