I have a comfort station question. I noticed on Fort Wilderness' site that the comfort stations have ice. Is this ice free (as it is at the hotels) or do you have to buy it?

You'd think we'd know this since we go at least once a year, but we never use the comfort stations.

Thanks & Happy Camping.

You have to buy it. It is outside the comfort station. I want to say it was about $2.00 a bag, but I am not sure.

Yes, it takes 8 quarters and you are better off bringing your own bag (like a tall kitchen bag). The one they give you always overflows.

One other thought. If you are staying in the pet loops, do yourself a favor and go to the Meadows Trading Post to buy your ice (pre-bagged). I have seen waaaay too many people let their lovely little critters drink out of the ice machine drain areas. As much as I love my dogs, that really grosses me out!
