Comfort of Baggaillini messenger vs. traditional bag for comfort

Hello, all! I know there are so many threads about bags (and I think that I've read almost all of them!), but I'm having a hard time deciding For all you Baggaillini messenger users out there, do you find the strap more comfortable than traditional bags? For me, most shoulder bags become pretty uncomfortable to wear after a fairly short period of time, so I'm wondering if the Baggaillini would be an improvement. I don't really want to wear a waist bag

Also, any other recommendations for a comfortable bag to carry that has a water bottle holder? Does anyone have an Ameribag Healthy Back bag? Is the strap comfortable? Thanks so much!!

A couple of trips ago, I bought my wife a bagalinni messenger bag, I thought it looked great. Well, after the first trip with it, the bag is alot bigger than anyone needs and you know if you have the space you pack everything. My wife is small, 5'2", 120 pounds and it weighed on her neck and shoulder and we retired it. It's just too big for how we tour. We're go in the morning, return at noon to resort and back out in the evening so there's no need to haul the kitchen sink with us. My theory, is less is better. We're not sleeping in the parks or staying overnight so no need for a full pack. We got a small, 8x10, flap type bag, good strap, wide and it holds what she needs for 4 hours. She's alot happier. We see so many people with backpacks and can not figure what they could need or want to haul around with them in the Florida heat. We're not bottle water people, fountains serves us fine but even at that, toting a bottle of water when you can just belly up and buy a fresh cold one and drink it is better than toting one. i guess its to each their own but we like going as light as possible and she has discovered the ideal bag after 42 trips.

We travel very light. We agree that the cost of a bottle of water is not remotely worth hauling water around for the day. If we were still using a stroller then sure we'd bring in water etc since we wouldn't actually be carrying it. It's also a lot faster getting in the park without a bag. If DH is with us he just sticks everything in his pockets. Everything for us amounts to camera, phones, wallet. That's it. Anything else we can get in the park. If he's not with us we take a fanny pack and mean Mom that I am I put it on my son. He doesn't mind and I really don't want to wear it. I am not at all interested in fussing with a bag - even a small one - for the day... but to each his own... My Mom used to tote around her purse - made it very difficult... She finally bought a fanny pack - now I see her carring it even when we aren't at the parks! LOL

We just returned back a week ago and I absoulutly loved the Baggallini!

I thought it was very comfortable and the strap is adjustable to any hight. It is the perfect cross between a small backpack and a shoulder bag. I could easily swing it to my back to be totally hands free and not worry about it slipping off my shoulder, but it was easy to pull around to my front to access its pockets. At times I was abble to carry as a shoulder bag, but seldom did.

On the outside side is a stretchy net bottle holder. I kept a water bottle in this. This was handy when waiting in line and needing a few sips of water. (we were there during record breaking temps so hydration was really necessary)

I carried our small video camera in the large main pocket along with some hand wipes,sanitizer and small tube of sunscreen and sometimes my sunglasses.

On the outside it was very easy to organize my camera and Blackberry in the many pockets, along with a bottle of Motrin. There was even a pocket I dedicated to my ticket card. I never worried about accessing them and loosing anything because everything had its place.

Outside that, is another small zipped pocket that I kept my maps and schedule.

I especially liked the large zipped pocket on the outside that rests on you, where I chose to keep my wallet and sometimes my daughter's wallet. I liked this because it is in a separate spot close to me but easy to get to.

On the strap is another pocket made for cell phones, but my Blackberry didnt fit, so I used it for the girls smashed pennies and hair clips.

Of course having two children I got various other things to hold on to. The bag was just big enough, but not too big. It also fit well into the pockets of rides like BTM and EE, even with the bottle in it.

The first half day in the parks I tried a good sized fanny pack and it did not do justice. It was not as organized and I found myself fumbling for my camera and phone. With the baggalini I was always able to put my phone and my camera in their own spot so even without looking I could find them easily.

So there it is. I loved my bag, but then, we all have different needs and different preferences. I hope this helps you decide.

I have a baggallini as well. I like it, but I don't love it. It is adjustable, but mine seems to be too adjustable- I have to keep tightening it. It also sits kind of funny on my neck/shoulder- might have something to do with my big ****s though, not sure.

That said, it will always come with us. I keep the following in my bag: ponchos for 5, brush, small sunscreen, chapstick, hand sanitizer, small packs of wipes, m&m tubes with pressed penny money, neck cooler things, camp towel, (sometimes the autograph books), my dslr camera, a small pouch with my KTTW card, debit card, ummm I can't remember what else, but it is pretty full. It has everything that we might need for the day and it doesn't take up too much space.

I need to be able to switch it up during the day, to avoid those sore muscles. So for strap versatility, I prefer a standard small messenger bag.

I look for a bag where you can adjust the strap anytime to switch how you carry it - long to sling across your body, short like a traditional shoulder bag. Some have handles, which give you another option. Some have straps that split into backpack formation.

My fave is this older Kenneth Cole vinyl (weatherproof) bag, 11x13 inches. It's big enough for my planning books, with outside pockets for water bottles, sunglasses and camera, and inside pockets for ponchos, autograph books, sunscreen, snacks, souvenirs. It's truly awesome.

I ended up trading my Baggalinni Messenger. It was just not comfortable for me at all. The strap did not tighten enough for me (I am 5'4'' and around 130lbs.), and when it was tightened all the way, it would not stay tightened. The bag just did not work for me. I like the Overland bags much better. I have two of them..one is the Donner bag. I love it, but it is a little too big. We (dd and I ) also have a smaller one, but I cant think of the name of it right now.

I have found that when I bring any kind of shoulder bag, that if I use that in the daytime when I carry water and my small mister fan, then I still have to switch to a waist pack for the evening. I cannot do any shoulder bag for the entire day without getting too sore. Maybe that's just me.

I just bought a small baggallinin at TJ Maxx that has a pocket I can carry my misty mate in the back. Won't fit a bottle of water, but I really like the style. I will try it in August.
