Come to the Dark Side...We Have Cookies...(updates 4/3)

They came back home today. I am trying my best to keep up with everything now. I have things bookmarked and I'm trying to get on once a day or at least every other day. :goodvibes

I'm so far behind on all my subscribed threads. I did read your new one and attempted to post several times. These next 3 weeks are crazy busy. I hope to get caught up soon.

GOOD LUCK to JJ and the entire cast tonight! I hope the fundraiser is a HUGE success!

JJ is not in this performance, but his theater dance teacher is.

It was a wonderful show.

Last night the fundraiser was not a huge success. We only sold 7 magnetic hats. Tonight we are taking 15 hats to sell. Hopefully ALL 15 will sell.

They had our table located near one of the entrances. I guess I look like a person of authority because patrons came up to me telling me the restroom was out of toilet paper, someone was sitting in THEIR seat, asking for directions to the bathroom, etc.

JJ's favorite friend from the homeschool group was working back stage to get community service hours. She made sure to come up to him and give him a big hug. He really looks up to her.

I hope JJ has a great opening night!!

He's not in this production, but we got to watch it. We really enjoyed the show. There were a few noticable glitches. The director came up to JJ and introduced herself. She said she does some children theater too, they bonded quickly.

I hope that the performance was a complete success and that you did well with the fundraiser!

The performance was great. The fundraiser was FUN but didn't RAISE much. JJ was having the time of his life though he hid under the table a few times. He told everyone his dance teacher was in the musical then showed everyone the new dance she taught them. Since there was no music, he sang the song while he danced. I guess he was the pre-show, lol. Several told me he had a very nice singing voice. He chimed in and very matter-of-factly told them he takes singing lessons.

I hope everything went well tonight!

Jackie

It went ok, we raised onl $35 last night, but it's $35 we didn't have. Hoping for a HUGE success in fundraising tonight.

Mickey mail arrived yesterday! It was from Lisa, mommy2mrb! Thank you so much! JJ was thrilled with the orange tissue paper and more shiny tissue paper! He's been having lots of fun with the lightsabor too. I don't know that I ever mentioned to you how much he loves Wall-E. He was thrilled with the Eve card. I assume since you scrap book that you made that beautiful card?

These are the hats we are selling at the theater for our fundraiser. JJ made a few hats, as did dh and I. Also one night the moms all sat down while our kids practiced and made hats too.

Better glitches on opening night than later. How nice that the director took the time with JJ. Too many times adults don't think.

I love Wall-E. JJ has great taste!

Those hats are so cute. So they have potpourri in them?

No, just magnets, no potpourri. Boy my allergies would really go wild then. I'm sneezy and wheezy from the feathers.

Loved seeing the photos of the Pixie Dust and JJ... He has grown so much over the last year - yet he still looks the same. He always looks so happy though, and I love that about him. ;)

The hats turned out great!

Back home and through the work week, I again am back to dis and trying to get caught up!

Sorry we missed you! I am sure we will have a chance to meet up again this year though...

Hats are super cute. I hope you sold all that you were hoping to.

Last night was a very fun night for JJ at the theater. Once again he was quite the salesman. He sold 7 hats, 8 if you include the one that he bought.

He met another member of the board before the show started. He sang for him, then this member asked him if he'd help with the raffle after intermission. The volunteers are allowed to watch the performance so as it was about to begin this board member got on stage to welcome everyone. He gave a shout out to JJ and informed everyone that he has been in 2 performances at the theater and that he is selling hats at intermission. There was another member of his special needs theatre troupe and he acknowledged her in front of everyone too.

Sure enough, after intermission, a woman came up to JJ and asked him if he's ready. He had no idea for what, but he said yes. Dh told JJ that he was going to be with the actors. They would announce the winner and JJ would take the prize to the winner.

I missed it all. I was packing up the fundraiser. Dh said they had him stand on the stairs to the stage, did their little "show" to announce the winner, then handed an envelop to JJ to give to the winner. He said it was so much fun and so cool.

To top off his evening, his older brother brought home 2 hermit crabs. It was such a sweet thing for big bro to do.

He certainly has grown. He'll be towering over me soon.

He has his moments, that's for sure, but mostly he is very happy. Almost every day is the "best day ever" for him.

Welcome home. Since you now have an AP, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of you here.

Thanks. We need to sell more tonight.

How fun for JJ to be a part of the drawing and being able to present the winner with their envelope. Hope your fundraising continues to bring in more money. Every little bit does help.

Busy is good! :goodvibes Someone was asking about Publix and I think you gave me that link. When you get time will you post it in my newest TR. No rush...whenever you can. Thanks. The hats are fabulous! Great job.

He felt important. It was great for him.

The fundraiser did better yesterday. We sold 10 hats. Yes, every little bit does help and those little bits add up!

There are 2 more weekends left. Other parents have stepped up to do the last weekend, but we have only one day covered next weekend. There are almost 50 kids in the troupe, I'm hoping someone can step up to the plate and fill the remaining spots.

I posted it as soon as I read this. Otherwise, I'd forget.

Thanks, the hats were really hard work in the beginning, but once we bought a glue gun things went quickly.

There are 2 more plays before our Fabulously Funny Fairy Tales. They want to do fundraisers at those too. But I don't like it all falling mostly on us. Most of the hats and decoration expense for the hats fell on us, along with making the hats magnetic, and selling them. I know in any group most of the work falls on 2% of the people in it, so I guess I shouldn't expect this to be any different. :confused3

Oh good thing they weren't potpourri. I cannot even imagine how miserable that would make you.

Yay JJ for being such a good salesman. How fun for JJ to be able to give the prize to the winner.

Oh boy hermit crabs! That's a fun pet for a boy!

Look at Mr. JJ Salesman and prize presenter! It always seems that the same group of parents end up doing the most work on fundraisers. Do you have pics of the magnet hats that you can share with us?

He is quite a character.

Hermit crabs are great and easy to have as pets. We've had some that have lived for several years.

Yes, on page 18 I posted a picture of some of the hats on a board.

We sold 32 hats total the first weekend. There are 2 more weekends left, thankfully the sign up sheet now has every day except one filled with a volunteer.

Somehow I missed an entire update! And it was a good one too....pictures of gifts from Lisa and pics of the hats. Those are so cute!

Lol, yes, and he was thrilled to get a package.

Every day when we get the mail, he wants to know if he got any mail. Occasionally he gets Lego mailings or a card from grandparents. So he was so excited to hear that something was for him.

I told him that Lisa made the Eve card and he was very touched. He put it in a special place so it never gets thrown away.

Updating on the SWW front:

There have been no official announcements since Disney announced the dates and hosts.

I've got all my ADRs made for each day we will be there of SWW for 1 table service meal a day. Most of our ADRs are for Sci Fi though some are for 50's PTC and one for Mama Melrose.

We have never eaten at Mama Melrose. For those of you who have eaten there, what do you recommend?

I suggest staying away from the pasta, the steak was amazing and so were the flat breads. But then again it's been since 2007 since I've eatin there, not sure how good things are now. :confused3 Their desserts were pretty good too, not sure you'll go for those or not but thought I'd let you know. :goodvibes

Then I guess I won't go back and edit, lol

No way!! I love it! :goodvibes

Glad you are enjoying the pictures. There are several CM who call my camera the Iron Man. So it's caught on, and my camera has a name.

Why do they call it the Iron Man? :confused3

You geeked out on splash in a good way or bad way?

Good way, geeking out means you like the geeky technical parts of something, the in's and outs that seem boring to everyone else. :goodvibes

There is a fruit cart over by Sleepy Hollow and Columbia Harbour House. They have baked potatoes, fruit, and some other options. They use to have sweet potatoes too, but discontinued carrying them. They open at 10:30am.

Good to know, I'll have to check it out. I am thinking about ordering some groceries so I'll probably order some blueberries to add to my morning greek yogurt.

Last night bed time went very well. First time in months he didn't panic before bed. We even played cards last night and I won and he was jumping up and down for joy because he didn't have a meltdown. He kept saying, "I'm ok...I'm ok. Mama, I'm really ok. Can you believe it? I'm not angry?" That was certainly a first. Hoping and praying for a 2nd, 3rd, etc.

This is amazing news!! Count all victories!! :woohoo:

Camille,

Flat bread sounds ok. I'm not much of a pasta eater anyway. Steak I usually stay away from.

My camera is Iron Man red in color.

The baked sweet potatoes are back at that fruit stand! They also have sandwiches too. I'll post pics of the menu that I took last week.

JJ is almost 3 weeks seizure free. I forgot to write down the date of the last seizure on my calendar. But that's another victory!

Yay for 3 weeks of being seizure free!! Praying that streak continues for you!

Jackie

That's great!!

Yes! Let's hope the trend continues! I think the cooler weather we've been having is playing into this. He does so much better in cooler temps. We haven't needed to use his w/c for any of our trips to the stores. He did use it at Disney last week though. I wish I could bottle up these 70 degree days.
