Come on AP Rates!!!

I wish they would just come out already!!! I am two nights short on my existing reservation. I really don't feel like calling to make a second reservation (first reservation is with a pin code). I guess I better though if we have to wait until September. This is driving me crazy! :scared1:

Nothing today . . . nope. . . nada . . . nyet . . . zip. . . .zero discounts for our loyal AP holders:rolleyes1

Sigh...not seeing any new AP rates and I'm not seeing any availability of AP rates for Oct 1-2 either.

I thought for sure today would be the day. Last set of AP rates were released on a Thurs.
I guess they could come out Monday.

I am really ready to make my reservations!! Don't they know that??:rotfl2:

By the way, HLAuburn, just LOVE your picture!!! :goodvibes

This thread is great! I have stopped checking the Disney website first thing in the morning, I check here. When I check Disney and there is nothing, I sigh and leave the computer, when I check this thread, I laugh! Come on AP rates!!!

Another day gone and no reservations for us! boo hoo!! :guilty:

I'm really hoping with the Summer Nightastic promotion ending on Aug 14, that they will have something for us on the 15.

me too!

I have bad news guys (hopefully it's not true).
I was talking to a CM today since I changed my resort (again LOL) and I asked her about the AP rates. She said they probably won't be out until mid-Sept.!!!! :scared1:
Fingers crossed that she is mistaken!

I hope this is not true.

Thank you so much Beauty  you really helped me. I tried to get in on my own, but had to contact a Disney tech. which I would never have known the number with out your help. They tried to talk me throught it, nope it wouldn't work. So she did it for me and now we are online for passholders. Woo Hoo thank you, thank you. Still no discount out yet, but one less thing to worrry about. :goodvibes

You're so welcome! A LOT of people have had trouble w/ the AP site this year (including myself) so we've all got to help each other. I was surprised at how efficient the tech dept is. I thought I'd be on hold forever when I called them months ago, but the put you right through & really are helpful.

Are there ever AP rates during peak times like the week after Easter? New AP holder. i have booked for Halloween weekend on BB but waiting also. Never been in the Fall with family before so we are excited.

Yes, they do offer ap rates during peak times. Check the rate history on this page: http://www.mousesavers.com/historicalwdwdiscounts.html
and you can see when they released the rates and also the time frame for the discount.

Thanks so much for the info. So if I want to go the week after Easter I should book a room and hope for the discount to come out and call to change it if they do? I was considering trying to rent some DVC points and then just add dining.

Do you guys think it is better to book a room now before the rates come out just in case and then call to convert it when the rates become available just in case everything fills up before then?

Thats what I have done. I am booked for November at BC and will change it accordingly. Or if I get a bounce back offer when I'm there this weekend I will book that and change it if A/P rates are better.

I will call and make a reservation for a Wilderness Cabin at the regular price. Then I will continue to watch for the announcement!!!:surfweb:

We booked 9 nights at the WL for December and are waiting for the AP rates to come out to hopefully save some money. When I called last month and booked, I asked if when the AP rates came out could we convert our reservation. The CM (who was very pleasant and helpful) said you actually had to make a new reservation, you couldn't convert. We decided to take out chances and book a room and see what happens when the AP rates come out. Maybe we will be able to convert, or maybe we will have to rebook. Since we are talking December, if we rebook I will get my original deposit back.

I guess we are happier hedging our bets, having a reservation and working from there. Since you don't seem to have to have an AP number when you book, I am concerned we might get blocked out if there are very few rooms, especially by people playing games...so, my advice to get the room and work from there!

Does anyone know what the AP discount for October historically has been?

DH just found out he has to go to Orlando for a few days the middle of October on a business trip. I would like for DD and I to go ahead and get a room on property and DH can join us when his business is done. I am upgrading our tickets to the Premier AP in September so I think we would be eligible for an AP room discount in October.

Thanks-

I'm just nervous because we're working with a TA at Small World Travel, and we've already done our initial reservation with her (in case AP rates don't work out), so she'll be booking the AP rate for us when it comes out. She's been great so far, but what if the rates are out early on a weekend day? Will she be working? What if the rooms all get taken in a very short timespan? :sad1: Ugh...this is agony! If we don't get the AP rate, we'll be forced to buy 2-day MYW tickets just to get free dining.

I have worked with Small World Vacations, not sure if it is the same as Small World Travel but SWV agent that I have worked with has been great and no matter when discounts came out, even on a Sunday morning, she was on top of it

Whoops, it's Small World Vacations, not Travel. We're talking about the same company :) Sounds like I don't have much to worry about if there's a discount released on the weekend.

I disagree with this idea. I am from the school of thought that believes the more empty rack rate rooms in the inventory the better chance they will discount it.

Plus, if everything fills up before the discounts come out, there are no rooms to discount, KWIM?
