Come Dance the Mardi Gras Mambo 2/28/06 TONIGHT

Just wanted to Update the times and Dates in this post.
The party will be held in my room Over Sized Tooth Day or Party Claw Room and will start at 4pm CST that is 5pm eastern and 2pm Pacific. I hope to just have some fun and in the tradition of Mardi Gras my mule MardiGrasMambo will make an appearance from time to time to offer gifts to those in attendance (nothing major people in real life beads don't cost much lol). I was also thinking if we wanted we could hold our own parade down Main Street too...




Okay... my family is all packing up and heading to New Orleans for Mardi Gras- I have to work the morning of Mardi Gras Day so I am not going with them.

So... I am going to hold my own Mardi Gras Celebration in my room on Tuesday, February 28th from 4pm CST until...

So put on your purple, green, and gold and come party with me in my "Me Art Tea Claw Party Room"... we will dance, eat King Cake and just have a good time.

MardiGrasMambo will make some random appearances and my suprise a few people with a gift or two- still working on those details.

My husband is from Metairie and we haven't been down to Mardi Gras since 2002. Although we always try to fly in crawfish for a boil once a year and we get the beads out for our California friends who don't care if Mardi Gras has already come and gone....

I'd love to come pass a good time with you!!

Oh! How fun! N.O. is *such* a wonderful place. I was there just before the hurricane hit last summer and I, too, am glad they are going on with Mardi Gras this year. They really need it.

I will try to make the party...but if I can't...have a mint julep for me. Not to strong, not too sweet,--just right-- the way they made it for me at Arnaud's.

Glad to hear so many are planning on coming...

New Orleans has been doing several parades already- there the parades usually start 3-4 weeks before Mardi Gras day but I know some were cut out or combined

And my husband has only missed New Orleans Mardi Gras 1 time since we have known each other (more than 20 years- and never missed it before that) he once even lost a job because he couldn't get off work for that day

My oldest has decided it doesn't excite him any more

the Middle one missed last year because she had something with Girl Scouts and School and couldn't make it- and said never again will she miss New Orleans Mardi Gras

the youngest two have gone every year of their lives lol

For those interested who could not make it to New Orlean's Mardi Gras-

DH reports some changes but seem to be all for the better- and he and kids are having a blast in New Orleans.

Just A friendly bump as a reminder for everyone to come spend Mardi Gras Night with me...

The room name will either be: Me Art Tea Claw Party Room or Over Sized Tooth Day Party Room- can't decide lol

I'll be needing some friends to celebrate as my family has been so great to call and tell me all that has been happening in New Orleans for them- so far if interested all parades were great. Willie Nelson was this year's King of Baachus and he actually spoke to my dd and her friend- they are thrilled. Endymion ran right after Baachus on Sunday instead of its usual Saturday night due to rain on Saturday- Family is still debating on whether or not to go to the Parades in the city or in Metarie for tonight- I'm voting they do Metarie and go to Zeus (I like that parade and want Zeus cups)

husband tells me that my 18month old loves Mardi Gras and didn't cry unless they were taking him out of the ladder when it was over...

Well we won't have real beads to throw- but I will have all the virtual king cake you can want and maybe we can go for our own parade down main street or something...

MardiGrasMambo will be making an appearance and may have something for a few guests (please don't expect much from him- Mardi Gras you get excited over getting cheap trinkets and you are happy with it lol)
