Combining Reservations

Want to make sure I do this right. I tried to add a night to my current reservation (well within my booking window) but the night didn’t show available but when I searched for the night rather than modifying it was there. It’s a sought after studio room at BCV so I scooped it up but now I’m not sure the best way to combine. Is there any risk with calling Member Services to handle? Not sure if they have to release the night during the process to combine.

Thanks in advance!

Call Member Services. They can do it for you. I have done variations of this many times via MS and they were always quite helpful.
Agree - we've done this a few times over the years and had the same experience. Can even use MS "Chat" or email to do the merge. It's not instantaneous, but they will take care of it.

If you made both reservations for the same room category at BCV, and both were made within the same booking window, then you can contact MS via phone, chat, or email and request it to merge the two reservations into one. Doing so does not risk losing any part of the rerservation.

Just to add to this, they will also merge reservations that were made during both home resort and non home resort windows. I have had this multiple times, and just had this done this week.

I booked my 3 RIV nights with my RIV points at 11 months. When the 7 month window opened, two of my three nights were still available....so I booked them with my SSR points, and canceled out the home resort nights I made with RIV points.

They combined my three nights back into one reservation on Friday for me.

You made this change so you could get back your RIV points which are arguably more coveted than SSR points?

Also, if the rooms weren’t available at 7 months, can you reallocate from SSR points? I think that’s a hard No. right?

I can't reallocate the SSR points into a reservation when its booked with my RIV points during home resort. The RIV contract is locked and won't allow the change.

So, you are right...I do it so I can free up my RIV points for use again at 11 months for future trips. If there had been no rooms, I would have done a waitlist and of course, stalked!

The key is that to do this, I can't pick up days in the middle of what I booked with my RIV points...they have to be from the beginning or the end since MS can't split a reservation...but, if something mid trip does show up, I will still snag it with the SSR points and keep trying to see if other nights show up as well.

If not, I cancel the extra nights I am holding later!

Had various issues trying to combine reservations together in the past. Worst case just have them linked when at the resort to keep the same room.

I just had them done in less than 24hrs. Called Saturday afternoon and received new email confirmation Sunday. I was shocked it happened so fast. Was told 7-10 days which has been normal the last few times I’ve done it.
