I am planning a big family trip (12 individuals) for 2016. The original plan was 5 days but now we are thinking of doing 6 nights. The 6 days was going to be a package with tickets and the Dining Plan (lots of children and Character meals so it becomes worth the price). My older children with their families probably would prefer not to do the extra Dining Plan Day so this is what I am looking at doing.
Reserve 1 night for 2 Campsites. Just Campsites no parks or dining.
Reserve 5 nights for 2 campsites with the tickets and dining.

Now comes the questions.
1st - Is Disney even go to let me do this?
2nd - If booked for enough out what are the chances that I will have to move to a different site? I am booking 499 days out. Does booking early even affect such a thing?
3rd - Will I have to check out and then check back in? If so can I check in at say 12 midnight?

Thanks for any help in this matter.

Yes, we have done it many times.

We never had to move. Be sure to have same level of site on both reservations.

Yes, you can re-check in at 6AM morning of 2nd reservation.
