I booked FD for Dec months back, under a PIN offer at CSR. Now we are looking at bringing with us one more person.

Over the weekend at 1am I was lucky enough to find a water view room at POR under FD. Without thinking about it, I booked the reservation.

Now I have two reservations and once it's confirmed the fifth person is coming 100%, I want to take that room but put it on my CSR res. The reason is that when that was done it was done under the old rates for both hotel and tickets. I had talked to a CM that said that my rates would be subject to the original booking date even if I would switch resorts. Difference is a few hundred dollars...

Regarding dining reservations, my DW set up new ressies under her name. They are not linked to a reservation but will do once the rest is done.

Has anyone done this before? If there would have been someone available at 1am the other night, I would have called it in and done it on the spot... Earlier we had talked but nothing was available then.

So anyone done something like this before? Worse case I would have to cancel my PIN ressie...

I'm not sure what you want to do :confused3, but it sounds like:

You booked a FD package with a PIN at CSR, but now you want to stay at POR instead. However, instead of calling to modify your reservation, you went ahead and booked another package at POR under the FD special and not your PIN offer. Was the FD offer better or the PIN no longer valid or POR had no room available?

You want to now apply the PIN offer in place of the FD offer on the POR room because your CSR room rate and ticket prices are less.

Is booking with your PIN still valid? If it is and POR room category you want is included in the PIN and there is availability left, you could modify your current CSR res. POR and CSR have their own price structures so you would be charged the POR rates. You can't book the POR room with the CSR rate you currently have. Otherwise people would book a value, then modify to a deluxe if they could keep the value room rate they originally booked with.

Or are you asking that if there has been a room rate and/or ticket price increase since you made your CSR res, if you can get POR at its old rate? As far as I know any modifications are charged at the current price structure and not at the rates at the time of the original reservation.

Once you know if your 5th person is coming you will need to speak with Guest Services to see if what you want to do is possible.

Clarifying... When I first called there was no availability at POR. At 1am on a Sunday night a room showed up under FD, so instead of waiting till the morning, I took it.

Correct.

When I first called I specifically asked this question. CM assured me that pricing will not change. In fact, CM priced out an ASMu suite and a room at BC and it was less than booking a new reservation under FD - same days/tickets. Hotel rates were lower and tickets were lower. Only problem was that guest services would need to be involved as the values had a different code that would need to be applied. She could make the change to another mod or to a deluxe right away, and then add the 5th person. She was even making sure the right location at POR was available, but unfortunately at the time, it wasn't. Clearly, CM knew what she was doing.

Again, I was assured that the original rates would stay as long as there was availability.

A somewhat similar issue happened to my DSis. She recently went to WDW. She originally had booked a BB RO discount offer for BC. She wanted to change it to a value or POR (they are 5). Value suite at ASMu was available. So she took it. But she wanted POR. She was then able to get a RO offer under AAA at POR (less of a discount than BB) but she could not switch it because they were different offers. 4 days before arriving she was able to switch under the BB offer.

5th person is coming from overseas and hence the wait. Airfare was purchased today so it's a deal and I'll be calling in tomorrow. Worse case, I'll have to stick to the current POR reservation.

FYI - Did it... But what a nightmare!

* 30 minutes on hold to get thru a CM
* 30 minutes on hold to get to Guest Services
* 15 minutes for GS to make the changes
* 15 minutes for GS to apply PIN offer instead of FD offer (PIN was booked prior to ticket increase and price difference was $120)

Next day, MDE showed two rooms booked, party of 5 on each, different departure dates

* 30 minutes on hold to get to a CM
* 10 minutes to get transferred to Internet services
* 30 minutes to fix it
* 20 minutes to transfer primary owner of reservation (they someone put the wrong person)
* 30 minutes discussing FP+ and lack of information

This morning I get two invoices via email. First one with all the correct information. Second one (5 hours later) with the incorrect check out dates. Both have the correct amount due and same reservation number

Now when they combined the reservations, they asked me if I wanted the deposit of the 2nd res applied to the first one. I said sure. I'm still waiting for it to show up. I did not feel like talking go GS today, maybe tomorrow...

What a fiasco...
