I have several Disney gift cards with small denominations on them. To avoid taking 10 gift cards with us on our WDW trip – does anyone know if the cards can be combined? I asked at my local Disney store, but the CM didn’t know a way she could do this….but she also didn’t know gift cards were reloadable…

We had the same situation and we were told "no" at 3 different Disney Stores. The deal is you can't buy a gift card with a gift card, so combining into one couldn't be done.

Can you buy Disney Dollars with a gift card and vice versa?

If so, on one trip buy all Disney Dollars at the store.

Next trip--buy a gift card with the Disney Dollars???????:confused3

Belle - They don't let you buy disney dollars with gift cards because disney $dollars can be exchanged for cash.

Since posting this question, I did call the Disney gift card department and they did inform me there is no way to combine the gift cards.

They did say that there is no limit to the number of cards your resort can accept, however, you can only use a maximum of 4 cards when paying for park tickets or at the disney store.

Looks like we'll be taking or stack of 15 gift cards with us...oh well, I got all the gift cards for 5% off, so I won't complain!princess:

Nope, no way to combine Disney Gift Cards.

However, if you're staying at a WDW resort, you CAN put all those cards down as a deposit to enable room charging on your KTTW card, thus letting you carry only one card around the parks with you.

NOTE: Not all check in CMs know that you can use cash, Disney Dollars, Disney Gift Cards, or travellers checks to enable room charging, and some may tell you flat out that it can't be done - that you must use a credit card - but this is not true. I use Gift Cards and Disney Dollars to enable room charging all the time; if you get a CM who doesn't know how, just politely request to speak to a supervisor. All supervisors know how to do it.

How did you get so many gift cards to begin with? Some kind of rewards program?

No...there was a promotion through a website for 5% off gift cards...but $100 was the most you could put on one card. We'll be in Disney for 10 nights in November and plan to eat at a signature restaurant every night. Since we know we'll be spending $1,500+ just on dinner, we figured we'd take advantage of the 5% deal and buy several cards. It would have been nice to have the entire amount on one card...but if it saves a few bucks I can deal with a stack of cards :)

I did the same thing to get the 5% off. I now have 17 gift cards. I plan on calling Disney to apply most of them to my reservation so I don't have to travel down with all of those cards.

oooh - you can actually apply the cards to the room BEFORE you check in? Let me know if that works for you, I think I'll do the same thing.

Kristinlynn-

I just got off the phone with Disney and I was able to apply the gift cards to the reservation. YEAH!!! I only used 6 cards with this call, I didn't want to aggrevate them. I'll call and apply the remaining cards tomorrow. I hope this helps you.

I did the same thing. I called in, and would only do 2 at a time. :lmao: The last CM was extremely nice and so I used 4 with her. :rotfl2: But so many were kind of... eh... about it. One even said that NO, I couldn't use them because they didn't have an expiration date. :confused3 I called back, and talked to that last one who was just so incredibly nice :lovestruc

Okay - I think I'll start doing this a few cards at a time then. I'd hate to walk up to guest services and hand them 17 gift cards....haha or I'd hate to be the CM who I handed them to!

You don't have to, I'm sure they'd be more than happy to do all of them (gotta get your money somehow ;) But I personally wasn't comfortable doing all the cards together in one call.

Have fun!! :thumbsup2

BTW - are you calling central reservations or the hotel front desk? We're DVC members...so should I call the BCV where our reservation is, or just contact DVC member services?
