Combining Disney Gift Cards

Hello! My kids received Disney gift cards all year as gifts for birthdays & holidays. They each have quite a few! I tried to combine them onto one card each on the Disney gift card website, but there were multiple cards where we couldn't transfer the balance.
I do not want to carry 12 gift cards to WDW! Would I be able to take the cards to a Disney store & purchase a gift card for each child, using the cards they have to pay for it? So I purchase two gift cards for $200 each, and use the 12 cards they have to pay for total balance of the 2 cards.

(We do not want to just charge to the room & pay off with gift cards, bc we feel like we could easily lose track!)

Maybe they all have to be same type of Disney GC to combine. So different types cannot be combined. (?)

You can combine amounts via disneygiftcard.com

Maybe some are Disney Store gift cards? You wouldn't be able to register those.

Register your cards and balances and then you can transfer amounts to combine totals. Each child can have one card with their own personal total.

I had no problem combining my giftcards online but I bought them all from the same place. Other posters on the DIS have had problem combining gift cards bought at different places so that may be your issue. Wait a few days and try again to see if it was a glitch. If it doesn't work then you're just out of luck. Sorry!

I'm thinking bc they were bought all over, they're difficult to combine. There's No issue with combining the ones purchased at the Disney store store.
New plan: is it possible to charge everything on our magic bands, then pay off a portion of the balance due with the gift cards at our hotel desk?

Yes. Just go to the front desk every couple of days and apply your gift cards against your room account balance.

There is a thread about this.

On disneygift card.com, gift cards can only be combined with gift cards from the same place of purchase. My Kroger purchased gift cards wouldn't combine with my target purchased gift cards, but all my Kroger ones combined together, and all my target ones combined together, so now instead of having 11 gift cards, I have 2.

And I was told I can bring them all to the Disney Store and have them merged into one gift card. I'm waiting to get all my Disney Visa points cards and then I'm going to have them all merged into one gift card.

The chippy at the Disney Store would not combine our three cards.

Unless it's changed very recently, they can't combine cards at the Disney Store.

I also have several gift cards and went to Disneygiftcard.com, but cannot find how to combine them? All I can find is all the varieties for purchase, and info on where they can be used, etc. Can someone help me, PLEASE? I'm probably looking right past it!

You'll need to create an account, then you can go in and add up to 5 gift cards at a time (I don't remember the exact verbiage used on the site. I know there is a "check balance" in the same list. "Manage my cards" maybe?)... You'll have to transfer the balance of each card onto your one primary card, then delete the 4 empty ones, then add 4 more, and repeat.

Just an update for everyone, this is no longer the case. Or at least it wasn't for me a few days ago. I was able to merge my two previously unmergeable cards together so now everything is on ONE gift card. Yay!

Same here, only it was a few weeks ago. We had cards purchased in different places and crammed them all down into one. Very convenient!

Someone told you wrong.
I see you were able to combine them on the website though.:yay:

I was unable to merge one of my gift cards about 10 days ago. Was at wdw last week and used the card once for a purchase. It allowed me to merge it after the use.

You quoted half my reply.
You're welcome.

:confused3 I quoted the part that read as snark, as that is what brought about my response that the snark was unneccessary. The other half was not relevant to my reply. My response would've been the same had I left the second half of your post in the quote or not. Sorry if I've somehow offended you? I read here on the boards that the Disney Store would merge gift cards, so I thought it was true. I was told twice that it wasn't, and that was the end of it. No argument or debate. I was just going to carry my multiple cards, no big deal - a couple of extra gift cards was certainly not going to dampen my honeymoon in the least! Now even that is not a concern, as the site is allowing everything to merge now, and I posted that information so that others who may not be aware of the change could try to merge their own cards again. After all that, I didn't feel the response/tone was warranted. Even still, I thanked you for the information. :confused3

Hope everyone has a great night! :goodvibes
