Howdy,

I think I know the answer, but I need a sanity check from ya'll. I've done a search and gone through about 10 pages of hits but haven't found my question specifically asked.

Can you combine points from two different master contracts that you own for a single night's point cost? For example, can you take 30 points from contract A at Resort A and 30 points from contact B for Resort B for one night's reservation costing 60 points at Resort X. The reservation would be at or below 7 months, so that is not an issue.

I think the answer is yes since we can use points someone else transfers to us, but of all the scenerios about buying a second master contract I've not thought about this one.

TIA,
Joe

I think you have to use all the points on one contract first, then if you still need more points to finish out a stay, you can take the balance from a second contract.

I am not 100% sure of this, however. This is probably a good question for MS.

If the two different contracts are under the same member ID number (i.e. add on contracts), this is possible.

If the two contracts have different contract and member numbers, you can't split a single nights stay using two separate member numbers with out tranfering points from one contract to the other.

MS can do this for you, but it takes a couple of days for the points to show up in your "transfer in" account, so do it ahead of your booking.

does this make sense?

You hit the nail on the head there. Even though the two contracts might have a single owner, they would stand as separate entities. But it would be very easy to formally transfer the points from one contract to another.

The only caveat is that you can only transfer in OR out of a contract in a single Use Year. So, if you had two contracts, "A" and "B", you could transfer points from "A" to "B" without a problem. But you could not come back later in the Use Year and transfer ANY points INTO "A" or OUT OF "B".

For multiple contracts of a single owner, MS is pretty flexible. They will even transfer banked and borrowed points if need to complete a single day.
