Combining cash w/ points?

If I want to book a two night stay at the BCV with points and book a third night through Expedia w/ cash will there be a hassel?
Will I have to change rooms or will they be able to link everything together for me?

Why don't you just book everything through member services. DVC members get a 25% discount for cash reservations thru member services.

Great idea. We reserved 2 cash nights at OKW on a 1BDR for $251 instead of the 375 quoted for July.

You can call and see if there is a discount for the day that you want to pay cash. However, I have found that the 25% off is becoming more and more scarce. The one problem that I see with making a reservation through Expedia is that MS will probably not be able to link the two reservations together. This means that you might have to check out of your room and be reassigned another the third day. Therefore, you may have to move and may not be able to move into the new room until the 4pm check-in time.

Can we book cash only trips via MS or does at least one day need to be on points?
And is the discount available for non-dvc resorts like AKL and Poly?

Is the discount applicable to just DVC resorts ? OR any resort ????

I believe the discount only applys to DVC resorts. You don't need to make a points reservation. All your nights can be for cash.

Yep, the discount is only for DVC resorts, and is not always available. It's even possible that you may find a room via expedia, but a call to MS will result in no cash rooms available.

One thing you can try, is if you end up booking via different sources, be sure to tell the front desk when you check-in and they may be able to link the reservation together at that time.
