Columbus Day

What do I need to know about Columbus Day weekend? Any special events that may impact touring? I know it will be more crowded than the rest of October but I need to take advantage of that Monday off.

Any advice as to whether it would be better to go Thursday -Sun 10/9-10/12 or Sat.-Tues 10/11-10/14?

Thanks for any help! I am usually a summer visitor but my DS REALLY wants to see Jack and Sally and the Halloween decorations!

The Food & Wine Festival will be in full swing at Epcot. It affects traffic around World Showcase, especially on weekends. It doesn't have any noticeable effects on the other parks.
