Columbus Day weekend vs. Columbus Day

Which is busier....Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday?? We are going to MNSSHP on Friday, no parks during the day...just the party at night. We'll be at MK on Saturday and Epcot on Sunday and Monday is an "off day"...we'll go to Kennedy Space Center and the beach.

I didn't realize it is Columbus Day weekend when we were planning the trip, so when we started planning which days to be at which parks, I thought taking the actual holiday "off".

I'm just wondering what kind of crowds to expect.

We went last year over Columbus weekend. It was fairly busy all weekend. The crowds got worst towards the end of the weekend, Mon. was the worst. Mk was super crowded on Sat. night, although our Sat. night was saved due to a very heavy downpour. My guess, more than half of the people ran out of the park in the downpour and then a bunch more left when they were canceling the parades because the street was too wet. We were there have fun. Who cares if your wet. It was warm that evening. We had fun stopping in all the water. That long downpour was a blessing. We actually were able to do quite a few ride because most of the people fled.

My advice, have a plan for what you want to do. Avoid Mk on Sat. Night unless have to see Wishes. Try Epcot or MGM that night for the early part of the night and then head over to MK after the first parade is over and stay until it closes.

Columbus Day just might be a hurricane make-up day for schools. It is for our county. Should mean less locals.
