Hi folks!
I wanted to share one of the coolest experiences that my family has had in the parks. We stopped in Columbia Harbor House for dinner and it started with my girls playing with the CM’s outside the restaurant and ringing their bell. When we went inside and got in line a CM approached us and asked if we would like to be VIPs that evening. We weren’t sure what that meant but it sounded good, so we agreed.
By this time we were at the register to order so the CM told us to go ahead and order but that she would be bringing our food out to us. We completed our order and paid. The CM then walked us upstairs to a special table that was roped off from the rest of the restaurant. The table was set up with a white tablecloth, cloth napkins and was decorated with Mickey confetti. The CM introduced herself as Ashley and told us that she was in charge of making us feel like VIPs for the night.
She soon brought out our drinks but instead of the usual paper cups and juice boxes from CHH she had a pitcher of coke for the adults and glass mugs of apple juice for the girls. Next, she brought the food we had ordered but in double portions, and a triple portion for my youngest. I had no idea that she could eat 12 chicken nuggets, but anyway, she did! The food was served on dishes like at Liberty Tree Tavern. Ashley made several trips getting all kinds of things and every kind of condiment for us. She also spent a lot of time talking with us, telling us who she was, where she was from, and all about her job.
Ashley was particularly great with my girls. She asked them their favorite colors and in a few minutes came back with cookies for them to decorate. She brought sprinkles and had made up icing in their favorite colors. She also brought my wife and I 3 desserts! Keep in mind that we had not ordered any of this!
We’re passholders and visit very frequently but this the coolest experience we’ve ever had in a counter service or table service restaurant. We’ve eaten at this restaurant many times and I’ve never seen or noticed this before.
Anyone else get VIP’d at CHH?
