Colored balloons in MK?

My dh and I were wanting to release green helium balloons on September 23rd. This is the sad anniversary of our first daughter's death and we always release balloons on this day in her memory. Green was her favorite color. We will be in MK that day and were wondering if there is any place that sells balloons...regular balloons, not the Mickey and Minnie ones.

If not, do you think if we brought our own green balloons that someone there would inflate them with helium for us?

They must have plain balloons somewhere. I had the concierage service at the hotel get me a bouquet of balloons last year so I could decorate our room for my DS's birthday. They were all plain except for a couple that said Happy Birthday.

RE: releasing balloons

Just a note ... in Florida, it is currently illegal to release balloons. An environmental law passed in the late 1980s made it "unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to intentionally release, organize the release, or intentionally cause to be released within a 24-hour period 10 or more balloons inflated with a gas that is lighter than air. Any person who violates is guilty of a noncriminal infraction, punishable by a fine of $250." This is because of the harm that deflated balloons cause to marine life when they fall in the ocean or in other large bodies of water. This is why Disney no longer does balloon releases at events.

So ... if you're planning on doing a balloon release on Disney property, you'll need to make sure it's fewer than 10 balloons, and Disney likely won't inflate them for you if you tell them what it's for.

There are a lot of biodegradable balloons out there that are okay to release, so you may want to ask about that.

Thank you, that is interesting. I didn't know that. We only will be releasing 4 balloons since that is how long she has been gone. I will keep this in mind, however. I'll look for biodegradeable balloons too...never knew there was such a thing.
