Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

So while bored at work I went searching the White Fence Farm website because I had no idea on the hours. If we have a big enough party I can make reservations for one of the rooms....I can't imagine that we wouldn't have a big party going on.

Saturdays WFF doesn't start serving until 4:30 and Sundays they start at 11:30....I am thinking a weekend in April for a CO DIS meet!! Now we just have to decide which one. Probably not next weekend because....well because it's next weekend:rotfl: Any thoughts on day or weekend??

I can't do next weekend anyway. Hair appts on Sat and Sunday we are going to the Rockies game! The weekend of the 12 and 13th I have to work on Sunday, but I am usually off by around 1230 or so. The 18-19 is out for me we will be camping, but the last weekend is open I think (I might be working I can't remember right now, but mid to late afternoon works for me even if I am working )

Hi Kelsie!!! Are you the Kelsie that I actually know in real life? GS leader? :)

We can't do next weekend because we will be in WDW! :cool1:

Any other weekend would work in April. I have never been to a DIS meet. Do we bring the kids? Sorry if that was a dumb question.

I've only done one other DIS meet....over on the DISigns part there is a great "family" in the DDA...we didn't take kids the first one but subsequent ones have.

I would think White Fence Farm is family friendly so kiddos would be involved...but I could be wrong (it's been known to happen:lmao: )

The White Fence Farm is VERY child friendly. I live a few blocks from there and my DD used to like going just to pet the animals, ride the slide and look in the stores. :)

Hi Kelsie- Nice to me you. I am so sorry about you dog.

Anytime in April would work for me. I am wondering if we should push it out a little further so everyone has time to plan that way no one will make appointments. Maybe in May?

I'm up for any weekend even May ( expect after the 19th of May ) because I will be in Disney !!

I am a bit behind but work part time from home doing medical billing. I worked there full time for 5 years - tried to quit and they wouldn't let me so now they let me do what I want. It works for everyone !

I also run my own photography business.

Kelsie, I am so sorry about your dog. I know how hard it is! Hugs to you! I thought you lived further away than that. Don't forget our lunch!

Thank you! :)

I am seriously heartbroken right now and miss him so much. I work from home so he was with me every minute of the day. It's left such a void, I wish I could stop crying and blaming myself. UGH here come the tears again! I feel like such a big baby. :(

Thank you! :)

I just saw the doggie and the dates...I am sorry...what a precious looking puppy.

I am embarrassed to admit this but when I see pictures of my dog (who died in 1986) I still cry. He was my first "child". They are such a huge part of our lives and it is hard when we lose them. Don't beat yourself up. Just remember the good times. It is hard and I, for one, understand. You know I love you!

Kelsie - I am so sorry to hear about your dog. Hugs to you. Thanks for all your help on my reservations! I know I can be a big pain sometimes!

Just back from White Fence Farm. I posted earlier about the huge shrimp that they USE to have. Someone posted here that they were surprised that they use to be bigger. Honestly, it was kind of disappointing to see how small they have gotten. Other than that, we had a wonderful time. We even went for the carriage ride.

What a beautiful day today but wait for tomorrow! Oh well, springtime in the Rockies!

Update... :scared:

A little backstory...DH has wanted to move up here for almost 2 years. He first tried to find a job that would relocate us, but most places wanted someone local. Then he got permission from his company to let him work virtually. We decided it would be better to winter in AZ than here, and so we planned to come up here by the end of March. Then in December, his company announced that they were going to offshore 70% of the company to India (they were already at 50/50), so we decided to put the move on hold. Well, his team got a huge project, and the company they were doing it for was going to pay to co-develop it. Combined with a larger than expected tax return, plus the stimulus package, and we decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and move. DH felt confident that as long as this project would be in development, he would be employed. It would be long enough for us to get up here, pay the moving expenses, get settled and he would get a 3-month notice in August.

I'm sure you can see where this is going...On Thursday, DH's first full day working virtually, his team was given 3 month layoff notice. :headache: I should backup a bit. His team is actually 2 parts, half worked in AZ, half in MD. It is set up this way because the company (HQed in AZ, bought a place in MD). His boss works in MD, and his way of reaching the "number" was to cut all the AZ people. The project didn't get cut or anything, and now everyone except this guy, apparently, are wondering how the heck they are going to complete it considering the skill set of the people let go vs who they kept. Of course, DH asked a million times "I don't want to leave if I will get a notice the week after we get up there..."

So anyway, if anyone knows of anyone in need of a QA Engineer/Software Tester with SilkTest automation experience or similar...

I'm sure in the long run, things will work out. DH will be working through June 30th, and is getting a decent severance. As long as he can find something not long after June, we could end up very much ahead if we can pocket the severance. He would have gotten a notice if we had stayed, and probably would have felt the pressure to take any job even if it was in AZ where he didn't want to be anymore; now he can focus just on CO. But this is not the way we wanted to start our Colorado adventure.

Good news...DH is attending his first Colorado Rapids game as a local (he is a big fan and has come to several games when we lived in AZ) and I have my scrap space about 75% setup.

Hope, I am so sorry about your DH's job...we can totally relate with you as my fiance will lose his job on April 18th. My place hires engineers, but it is mostly civil, mechanical, electrical, geotechnical, hydraulic engineers. I can talk to some of them to see if they have any suggestions for you DH.

White Fence Farm was a lot of fun yesterday. I cannot believe how expensive it has gotten!
