Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

I am working this weekend so no big Easter plans for me. At least I get out of brunch with the in-laws. :) Is everyone's Spring Break this week? Any big trips planned for that? We have two other people off at work so I wasn't able to get any extra time off, but I will be off on Thurs and Friday so maybe the kids and I can find something fun to do. Maybe the movies popcorn:: or something.

No big Easter plans here either. I usually host a big dinner with several relatives but this year everyone scattered. I think PoohFriend, her fiance, my DH and myself will eat out and go to a movie. Kind of sounds relaxing for once.

Hope, sure hope the weather holds out for you. Welcome to Colorado (a bit early).

Welcome to Colorado, Hope!!

No big plans this weekend...I get next Monday off and it's Spring Break so maybe we'll do something then. Ohh...and we are going to try Peeps jousting for the first time:thumbsup2

BTW: Thanks Fizz for the back covering on the attached parenting thread. :flower3:

We don't have anything special planned for the weekend. We usually soend it with my inlaws.

So do tell - what is peeps jousting ?

put a toothpick for a sword in a peep and put 2 in the microwave and zap them...the first one to explode wins (I think). I thought it sounded like a fun thing to do.

Let me see if I can find the post describing it.

eta: here it is

It's a silly little game. You need a bunch of Peeps, a handful of toothpicks, some paper plates, and a microwave.

You take 2 Peeps, poke toothpicks into their bellies and put them on paper plates, facing each other with their toothpicks pointing at each other about a half an inch or inch apart.

You pop the plate in the microwave and rev it up for about 2 mintues. DO NOT leave the microwave unattended. Not only is it not safe, you'll miss all the fun.

After a few seconds in the microwave, the peeps will start puffing up dramatically. Eventually one will stab the other and deflate it. That one is the loser and the one left upright reigns victorious.

It's definitely a hit with kids, but it's also hysterical to see a bunch of fully grown adults crowded around the microwave cheering them on.

My toddler was over the moon about graham cracker sticks in plastic eggs. Wasn't candy, but that didn't matter to her. She thought those were awesome enough to look for... over... and over... and over... :rotfl: They also have graham cracker bees now.

Hope that helps ya out! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I never thought about something like that. I know she gives him gummy treats too so maybe I could get him some of those.:woohoo:

May all of my fellow Colorado DIS'ers have a very Happy Easter

Good Morning!

Just got back from Disney and have not had a chance to read all the pages on this board. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Has anyone heard any more information on the Park Meadows Disney store?

I was so upset when we lost both of our Disney Stores here in the Springs but at least got my fix by driving to Denver and going to Park Meadows. Then suffered again when that one was closed. I am so looking forward to the Park Meadows re-opening!!

Nothing yet, the last I heard was a soft opening in April.

I had no idea Park Meadows was reopening. Where are they putting the store? I had to drive to Aurora Mall for Disney Dollars for the kids for our trip in two weeks.

Here's a funny question for you... What uses for boiled eggs can you come up with to try and USE all these pretty things we have in the fridge? I was laughing with babytrees about feeling like I was in Forrest Gump, except I was using eggs instead of shrimp!

My list:
Deviled eggs
Egg salad
Boiled eggs for breakfast
tuna salad with chipped up eggs
chicken salad with chipped up eggs

Your turn! :thumbsup2
