Colorado DISers ... where are you ?

Wow, it is so beautiful out. I can't believe how much snow we got last night. I thought it was going to be "showers".

It is so pretty and I am so glad it's lasting more than a couple of hours...makes it seem like it really is December. :goodvibes

Today is my first day of being unemployed....hmm, I am very, very surprised at how unfrazzled I am. Maybe it hasn't hit me yet. Either that or I know I did the right thing. :confused3

I am jealous. We have absolutely no snow up here at all. We had a dusting, but that was it. And it was gone almost immediately.

But I do love this Colorado sunshine in December!

Ten inches later, the snow quits. The grass needed it so bad. And yes, it makes it feel more like Dec and Christmas time.

Binny, I am so sorry but I don't know a thing about Aurora. We live as far west of it as you can get before hitting the foothills. The house and price looks good. I know that there are crime areas in Aurora that you have to beware of.

HI all, well it looks like we will be coming to visit the second or third weekend in January.

We are really busy trying to get the house on the market and everything else taht needs to be done. Found out DH will be inheriting the last managers HHR. LOL We have had Caravans for the last 12 years as company vehicles. This is going to be interesting to have a different vehicle.

Sounds great!!

I am starting to get a little frazzled...but I know there is a job out there for me....just to find it!!

Love the new siggy pic!!

Hang in there. You will find the right one! Thanks about the picture. It was taken in Boulder.

Binny, I think you will like the HHR.

Happy New Year Everyone!

I need some advice. We are about to adopt a golden retriever/ lab mix dog about a year old. She has not been spay. Any suggestions on good vets, or are there some places you have been to that you would not return?

Thanks!

I am up north so not sure if this will help you or not...

we took our puppy to "Every Creature Counts" (everycreaturecounts.org) it is in Fort Lupton so quite a drive for you from Littleton... but their prices are great and they do a great job. We were pleased with them.

Also you can look into "Planned Pethood." I know that they have a couple of places, one of them is in Denver (44th I think) but I can't remember where the other one is located at... they too have lower cost spay's.

Where are you adopting the pup from? They may have suggestions as well?! Sorry I can't be of more help! But best wishes on the new addition to your family! I'm not sure how life would be without our year old pup!!

I sent you a PM with our vet information since we live in the same area.

Another ex-Colorado girl formerly of Castle Rock. I miss that beautiful state and don't know why we left. Oh, that's right job or no job, wasn't a hard pick. :lmao:

Still dream about coming back. At least no matter where I live I'll always have my DIS friends. :grouphug:

Colorado Mom - Don't know what part of CO you live in but we had our lab spay at Animal Care Center in Castle Rock. Also have an office in Castle Pines.
Dr. Wayment is the best! The whole office for that matter is great. Here is there website:

our vet won't count....they only handle small animals. Though I wouldn't count our 15 lb calico as small!:rotfl:

Every Creature Counts is where we got Pearl from...they are awesome!!

Thanks everyone! Going somewhere we know people (and their pets) have been happy with makes a big difference. We're excited to enter the world of dog ownership. Had to get that last Disney trip in and now the wait is getting long. We've applied with two local rescue groups, and met a golden/lab mix over the weekend from another situation (not the resuce) and the women e-mailed me Sat. night about how much they loved our family. They had a few more possible candidates to meet yesterday, and now since I haven't heard from her, I wonder if they found another family they think will be a better match. :sad1:

I know we will find the right dog. There are so many that are in the resuce groups, I just had no idea how slow the process is.

Thanks for letting me share/vent. :)
