Colorado Cruisers

We considered being in DisneyWorld over Christmas this year but decided against it. Mostly because not all my kids could go. The cruise would be a lot of fun over Christmas. Tiffany will alreadya be half way through her first year of college!

We're back from camping and had a blast. Weather was perfect and the group we went to was a lot of fun. I guess the summer is officially over now :guilty: I think we might try and squeeze one more trip in sometime in September, but Nick said he might just take the girls. A weekend without hubby and kids :cool1:

Heidi - I'm with you about the Christmas cruise. Our kids are getting old enough that it's just not the same. I'm thinking they would take another cruise over gifts anytime.

Sandy - Glad your having a good time :sunny:

Good morning!!!! I had a very busy weekend of hospitals, taking care of my parents house, and doing laudry!!! Fun Fun Fun!!! Went down to Castle Rock with my sister and BIL to the MOMS (mother of multiples sale). I got to spend some $$ on my niece and nephew and spoil them a little bit!!!!

Teresa - where did you go camping at? I love camping!!! After my parents are back, we are hoping to go to my BIL's parent cabin in Guffy!!!!

My mom has been having the time of her life on the cruise!!! She didn't like Manzanillo at all because it was "scary". The weather hasn't gotten her down at all, which I am so glad!!! Yesterday was the Panama Canal and they had a lot of fun!!!!

My mom and dad booked another cruise on the 10 day Wonder cruise in September of 2006, better yet they booked a room for me also!!!!! I am SOOOOO excited!!!!

Who can join us?

Heidi- I am looking into prices. they are not to bad. I want to go!!

Barb - I want you to come SOOOO bad!!! I really hope you can swing it.

Heidi - You are SO lucky!!! Now we'll all have to hear you AND your mom talking about your upcoming trip. How many days?? ;)

We camped at Pearl Lake State Park, just north of Steamboat Springs and south of Steamboat Lake. We've been going there for the past 5 years and LOVE it. The lake is non-motorized, and the kids have a blast fishing. We had 8 campsites (there was 28 of us) :cool1:

Teresa - that sounds like so much fun!!! Were you able to have campfires? I love camping!!!! I Can't wait to go to the cabin with my family in a few weeks!!!

hmmm the cruise in Sept. 06 leaves September 7, 2006 so I have 373 days left!!!!!

My parents are in Curacau today. She says its beautiful there. They are getting ready to go on their excursion and while they were on the elevator they rode it with Roy Disney and his wife. How cool is that?

Heidi - How cool is that?! :cool1: I'm glad they are having such a good time.

We were able to have a camp fire. I'm not sure what National Forest Pearl Lake is in, but the fire danger was at moderate and there were no restrictions. It was wet up there, so no problems. I hope you guys have a great time at the cabin. Where is Guffy at?

Guffy is right outside of Canon City. Sometimes we drive through the Springs and sometimes we drive up on 285, depending on if we need to pick up the ATV's!!!

I love campfires, I think I would be so devastated if I couldn't have a campfire while camping!!!!

Heidi- You have ATV'S?? Oh my gosh we had so much fun on one over the 4th of July this year. We went up to my son's fiance's parents mountain house and rode theirs. It was loads of fun. I want one!

Barb

The campfire is definitely a MUST for camping. I remember the years when we couldn't have one and it sucked.

Barb - I don't have ATV's but my sister and BIL have 2 and his parents have a bunch!

Good Morning!

Heidi-I had so much fun on that ATV. Do you get to use it often?
Is there any chance that you will go on the September 2006 cruise and the December 2007 cruise? It is more then a year apart. Lets do it!!

Pretty chilly in the Springs this morning. How is Denver?

Tera-I agree about the campfire. I can't believe how many hours you can just sit and stare at the fire. I love them too.

Barb

Barb - we usually get the chance to use them about 3 times a year for a few days (2 times at the cabin and 1 time if we go tenting in the summer). They are so much fun. There is 4 automatic ones that I like to drive and there is like 5 ones that you have to shift (not my favorite). Off the property there is a national forest that we open up the gate and play around in. They have a bunch of ATV trails.

Denver was cold this morning, but it is a nice change.

Denver Cold?

I can never see that happening :rotfl2:

We are at Castaway right now, oh what a long time it has been since I have been here. It is warm with thunder clouds in the background.

I have never used an ATV before, however I did drive Hummer H2's offroading in Cabo San Lucas...now that is an experience.

Well, almost home...colorado that is...after I finish this cruise and then my cruise on the wonder...so where has been the hang out spot recently.

 to DCLCruiser  When do you think you'll be home? We'll have set up some kind of DIS meet when you get back.

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. We're celebrating Labor Day today and then we have our football draft tomorrow and Monday, we'll be relaxing :sunny:

DCLcruiser, posting from CC. What is wrong with you?? Oh, I just figured it out. The weather kept you inside! Didn't work for me, I was at Serenity Bay getting kicked off the beach!!

Hi guys, had a wonderful cruise. Absolutely perfect. The luggage fiasco was Disney's fault. Not the airlines. Disney took care of our laundry because of the exploding stuff. Ever have pressed underwear? :rotfl: Plus the luggage that had everything out in the hallway was ripped by Disney and they repaired it. Disney handled everything just fine. It was very frustrating on the first day but we managed to get into vacation mode after guest services took care of us. Even managed to see DCLcruiser a couple of times. Loved Curacao, hated Manzanillo because of a scary moment, and Acapulco wasn't anything great. The cliff divers were fantastic. Saw them at 10:30pm so we could watch them dive with torches. Riding the waves through hurricane Hillary was sooooo much fun. Wish we could have had more rough seas. Call me crazy! We were on deck 2 and the waves would completely cover the porthole. Wish you all could have seen it. One of our friends got sick but the rest of us did just fine. Even our server got sick. Lots of tables were empty at dinner. Even deck 10 was roped off for awhile and the swimming pools were making their own waves. What an experience. The Panama Canal crossing was great. Wasn't hot at all. Once you got throught the first set of locks we all pretty much treated it as a day at sea. Once you see one set of locks, you have seen them all. The scenery was beautiful. Even saw two crocodiles.

I am so tired so will have to get off this computer and go to bed. Thought of all of you while on the cruise!

Welcome back Sandy! I'm glad you guys had such a great time. I was worried after hearing about the luggage fiasco. Heidi says you've booked another trip for all of us? You are SO sweet ;)
