Teresa, you are more dedicated than I could ever be. Way to go!
Thanks for the suggestions, Heidi. We ended up booking at The Inn at Grand Lake, in part due to a $20 off coupon online. Also, by changing our date by one week we got a suite that was listed at $170 for our first choice of weekends for only $90 (not including the $20 off)! Turns out there was a big wedding booked for our first choice of weekends and it sounded like half the town was booked up for it.Pooh_Friend#1 said:Here is some places where the moose won't step on you, but the cabins are on the lake.
Lazy Moose Cabins
Columbine Cabins
Lemmon Lodge
Grand Lake is basically at the west end of Trail Ridge Road. If you started in Estes Park and took Trail Ridge Road, you'd end up in Grand Lake. This is our first trip up there but it looks like a pretty good sized town. Compared to Estes Park, I don't know though.Mickey02 said:Jrsy Boy-Where is Grand Lake? Sounds really nice. Is it just a camp ground or is there a town like Estes Park? I love to visit Estes Park. We have not been there for a while. Time to go!
So was I, only I was driving about 12 people up to the Power Plant and Dams that my agency built and manages in Estes Park and Loveland. Gotta love work field trips, but hey atleast I got some taffy at Estes!!!!Jrsy Boy said:We were actually just up in Estes Park about three weeks ago.
Did you get backed up in the repaving traffic or didn't you take 36? We made out OK on the way up, but got stuck for a pretty long time on the way back. Good thing we had Oskar Blues to look forward to in Lyons!Pooh_Friend#1 said:So was I, only I was driving about 12 people up to the Power Plant and Dams that my agency built and manages in Estes Park and Loveland. Nope, we made it out okay.....we took 36 back home. That was such a long day. We left at 6:45 and got back at 5:30....I will never let anyone volunteer me to do that again!!!!Jrsy Boy said:Did you get backed up in the repaving traffic or didn't you take 36? So you were in MY neck of the woods. You can practically throw a stone and hit my house from either of those destinations. Did you notice that the Del Taco at Broadway and Belleview is now open? You wouldn't believe the line at the drive-thru yesterday afternoon!Pooh_Friend#1 said:we went to Red and Jerry's and spent $60...ya didn't think I would spend that much $$$$!!!! Then I took them swimming to Pirates Cove on Friday.
