Colorado Cruisers

Hey guys, I need some advice. Sorry Jrsy boy but it is about fashion.

Should I wear black nylons, tan nylons or no nylons at all for my long black formal gown and black knee length semi formal dress? Should I just wear flip flops? I was told by a store that black hose is now considered a fashion no-no. Help, I don't know what to do.

Thanks Val. I am a fair skinned red head so they natural tan is not on the feet! So would you still do the same thing?

Do what you feel comfortable with. To be fair, I avoid them whenever possible, even at work, but every so often concessions must be made. I tried it last cruise and was so uncomfortable wearing them. My formal dress is floor length and since my sandals don't have straps, I'm afraid my feet would be too slippery with the nylons. I'm sure you've seen my picture...I'm pretty fair too.

I'm with DV, I avoid them whenever I can. I wouldn't wear them on the cruise because it is just too uncomfortable for me.

Sandy - I wore tan colored ones with my formal dress and ended up taking them off after dinner (before the Golden Mickey's) I could have easily gotten away without them at all. Only reason I even wore heels was my dress was too long. I switched into my flip flops after dinner.

Thank God for the rain!!!!

Today is my baby's first day of 5th grade :earseek:

I am with you! I never wear hose and can't imagine the circumstances that would get them on my body. Especially not a cruise!
I hope your baby has a great day at school! What a wonderful day (IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO LEAVE THE HOUSE). Thank goodness I don't today. :maleficen

Hi All

Just checking in. I agree with everyone else Sandy. I don't wear hose on the cruise either. Way to uncomfortable.

It was pretty chilly today but I LOVE the cooler weather. We were looking to buy an airconditioner but every place is sold out. Go figure. Next year central air!

The rain today was great, but I'm ready for some sunshine. I love days like this in October on a Sunday, watching some football :teeth:

We need sunshine tomorrow :sunny: . My brother and his family are in town for a couple of days and we were supposed to go to Elitch's today. We are hoping for tomorrow. We can't go Saturday because we are having a big bbq here at my house since they are in town and my grandmother is in town too. Then they are leaving on Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed for sun.

Sandy, I don't wear hose very often either. I think I will probably have to for formal night though because I will need to wear heels ( my dress is a little long).

Cristi - Have fun at Elitches, I think the weather will be perfect in the AM for the rides so get there early. It might be a little chilly for the water park, but I love water parks so 70 degree weather wouldn't stop me from getting in the water, plus it would be less crowded!!! Have a great weekend with your brother and his family. Can I stop by for the BBQ since I think I am close to being down the street from you? ;)

We needed the rain so I didn't complain but am ready for the 90's again!!!

Good Morning

Have fun at Elitches Cristi. Is it still raining in Denver? It is still really coudy here in the Springs.

Today my daughter started her first day of her Senior year. :guilty:
I can hardly believe my baby is almost out of high school

Barb

Hi Barb!!! She is already starting school? I can't believe how early kids are going back to school!!!

Okay, I've been out of touch for a while (bite your tongue, Heidi) but here's my two cents:
I see the black hoses around but most garden centers I go to have more green hoses. What are you planning to water on your cruise, anyway?

Once you are done laughing at my ignorance, I'd like some input on a question of my own please...
We are looking to spend a nice fall weekend in or around Grand Lake. Does anyone have a recommendation for accomodations? We don't want to camp (don't want a moose stepping on us), but a cabin would be okay. Thanks in advance.

Jrsy Boy, you never cease to amaze me!! I love the Grand Lake area but we are campers so I can't help you. But....thanks for helping me on the black hose. You never know when one will come in handy!

Doing the doc dance. Got our docs for the repo cruise. Yahoo!

Barb, you can post here but not the other??????? What's up with that?

Going camping in about an hour. We are stopping by a "fast food type" Mexican restaurant in Castle Rock called Santiagos. Anyone ever go there? We have heard good things so we thought we would try it. It is right off I25.

We did get to go to Elitch's yesterday. We got there around 11am and left around 5 pm. The weather was great. Some of the lines did get a little hot in the sun. So, there was myself and my two kids, my brother, sister inlaw and their son. We didn't ride anything all together all day long. My sister-inlaw doesn't like roller coasters or anything that leaves the ground. She did take all of the kids on the tea cups though (I don't like things that spin really fast). She also took the kids over to the kiddie land while my brother and I rode Mind Eraser. I think everyone had a really good time though.

Heidi~ sure come on over. I have to warn you though it could be interesting. My mom was telling me the other day about a few different family members having some "tension" between them. And my in-laws are coming too, and my sister-in-law's mother in-law will be here too. I really must head over to the liquor store and stock up on Mango rum :rolleyes1

Cristi - Sounds like you guys had a great time at Elitch's yesterday. Probably a perfect day to go (not too hot, not too cold). I can't believe we haven't gone there all summer :guilty:

DV - Isn't unbelievable how quickly our babies have grown? :earseek: I swear some of these kids in Katie's class have grown a foot over the summer :goodvibes

Barb - How was your DD's first day of school? I loved being a senior (just that much closer to getting the hell out of school  )

Sandy - I know your camping this weekend. Where did you guys go? We are doing our last trip up at Pearl Lake later this month (just north of Steamboat Springs) It's one of our favorite trips.
