Good advice in the PM Jrsy Boy :rotfl2:
To my friend thanks for forwarding it :rolleyes1

What is this nutcase talking about? :confused3

I put her on my ignore list, but I got curious and checked her post. Now I am just confused. But I refuse to respond.

The news says it's coming. When I came back from WDW last week, I went from 75 and sunny to 29 and snowing. DH, bless him, took everything out of the back of the car so he could load the suitcases, including the scraper and the brush! That was fun. And then a few days later, -5! 5 months until I feel warmth like Florida's again...and it was actually cool for Florida, 60s and 70s, with lows in the 40s - 60s.

Wow, that would be a drastic change in temperature, come home to below zero temps!!!!

Anybody else cold today??

Heidi invited me to Zoo Lights. I would love to go this weekend but it is going to be even colder. What to do, what to do.

Bundle up and bring a flask. It was bitter cold when we went to Blossoms of Light, but it was well worth it.

If you have a chance, stop at Party City or one of those places, see if they have glasses you wear to look at the lights. They look like the old 3-D glasses and when you look at a small point of light, you can see something like a halo around it in a specific shape. We got ours when we got tickets to Wildlights a few years ago and when you look at the lights, you see a snowflake around each one. It is very cool and makes looking at lights that much more fun.

Great advice!!!! I think we got those glasses when we were at MGM looking at the Osborn lights, only they had angels instead of snowflakes. It was very cool.

Does anyone know where you can buy discounted tickets for the Wildlights at the zoo?

Apparently they have changed the name from Wildlights to Zoo Lights. I wonder why... :confused3

From what I've seen, you can save a whopping 25 cents per ticket if you buy them online BUT if you bring a donation to 9Cares, Colorado Shares you get a $1 discount.

I see why people go to Arizona during the winter now :sunny: I was directing traffic at school in this and it sucks! :cold: :cold:

If you're a zoo member, there's a $2 discount. I haven't been to the zoo in a while, do they charge for parking in the new structure?

Winterfest in Thornton is going on tonight and tomorrow, usually they give the glasses away. (No guarantees, though! It's usually a fun outing anyway) We hang on to them every year, with those and the Osborne lights, we have snowflakes, angels and bells.

I agree. I was at a funeral today, 26 degrees at my friend's graveside. THAT sucked.

No, parking is still free, even in the structure. Also heard that you might check Conoco to see if they have discount tickets.

I was out in the snow early this morning for an optometrist appt. so I ran a couple of last minute Christmas errands. There were tons of people out and about, but everyone was pleasant and friendly and happy. I think the snow really put people in the holiday spirit.

Must be so. I was out mailing packages this morning and there were lots of smiles going in and out, and one man wished me good morning :) I went the click and ship route, got my postage attached before leaving the house, and just dropped the packages off without having to stand in line! Excellent! That contributed to my smile, and a cheery response to the "Good morning!"

Well, made my decision. No Zoo lights for me. Not even sure if Heidi went. Good to hear that people are still friendly. It always seems at Christmas time if you smile at a person they just turn their heads. That has always bothered me every year.

Ugh, just heard that a box of Christmas presents that was supposed to go to friends in MD went to their old address in NJ instead...and it was accepted by the new homeowners! I'll try to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were going to try to get it to our friends, unless I hear otherwise. The fault lies with the guy who works in the mailroom at my FIL's office. How dumb do you have to be if you can't even pull off a job in the mailroom?

Ugh, thats bad......hopefully the new homeowners will be truthful and ship it to your friends at their new address.

I can't even fathom KEEPING someone else's gifts. Surely they will have a conscience and find the rightful owner or ship it back.

The packages made it to MD on Saturday morning, but it wasn't all that simple. Apparently DHL was able to track down the new homeowners who had taken all of the boxes to the restaurant either they own or work at. Of course, as the optimist, I assumed they were trying to get them to the rightful owners. When the boxes arrived in MD, however, our friends found that many of the gifts had been unwrapped. DW still needs to go over what exactly was in the boxes to make sure nothing was missing. They did say that apparently the stacks of 20's and 50's were missing... :rotfl:

So, the good news, they got the boxes, the bad news, the people who live in their old house are not very honest, even during the holiday season.

Did everyone have a great Christmas?

We had a good christmas, very busy!!!

Heidi was right. We did have a good Christmas but we learned something. NEVER go to a movie that a man suggests. We ended up sitting at King Kong for 3 1/2 hours. That was the most dragged out movie I had ever seen. Of course, Heidi and I had to make a scene. Oh well, got it out of our system anyway. We also saw Cheaper by the dozen 2. That was funny. We all liked it.
