Have any of you guys heard of Facebook?
It has totally become the new obsession on my campus. It is a huge procrastination tool. I was just wondering if there were any other DISers on there.

yep - i'm on it. it was really big when it first came out on my campus earlier this year.

It is this website with A TON of colleges in the country on there. You make a profile and you can find friends from your school and other schools on the website from high school and middle school. I even have people from elementary school on my friend list. It is just a fun way to keep in touch with friends and a really really fun way to distract from homework and studying.

you can also message people with it. i just logged in and discovered i had a few birthday wishes (my birthday was a month ago oops!)

I'm on it; I'm sure my finals grades would have been MUCH higher without it, but it's definitely fun!

Northern is on it. We've been on it since August. I got an email that month telling me about it.
Yeah, I defiantly haven't signed up for it and I don't know if I'm going to. I'm thinking that I'm probably not going to.

Also, I just created a Facebook group for those who belong to DIS. It's called The DIS. If you can think of a better group name, let me know and I'll change it. Let's see how many of us there are out there.

My daughter and her boyfriend both have pages on it, but they seldom check them. I know that some of their friends are on there almost constantly. I know their universities (different schools) have had them for 2 or 3 years.

Yep, was at my undergrad school. I didn't like it and it just became a stalking tool for anyone that used it...

Both our sons have Facebook accounts - the grad student has had an account since they first became available. When they made it available to high school students, our younger son (now a college freshman) started an account. He uses it to keep up with friends who went to different colleges and friends still in high school.

I think it's a really great website that finally succeeded at connecting people; something other websites have failed at continuously.
