enjoyed the discussion on the email show.......anyone else know transplants that never left?

so I shared an apt at Vista Way with 5 other girls, so 6 of us total in a 3 bedroom in the fall of 1996, my sr year of college. to show the 'power and pull' of the mouse, 3 of the 6 of us ended up staying after our program and became transplants. In fact, two of my roomies were already on their second program when i lived with them. Both of them stayed yet again- one worked in entertainment at the studios and did the Hunchback show and other entertainment gigs. She now works contract for kodak at JII pavilion. It was 1996 when we did our program. yep, 13 years later, she is still there. she even had her mom working part time entertainment at one point too!

the other roomie continued on a 3rd program and had INTL roomies that time and she became the american ambassador at world showcase and later worked guest relations, then onto disney weddings where she just left last year. Some of her INTL roomies ended up staying as well after their programs.

the third roomie had never even been to disney and this was her first time away from home. she worked at CP in the kitchen at the MK and continued on in a culinary training program at the world.

interesting though how many of the CP'ers end up staying and never 'graduate college'......:rotfl:

a lot of CPs come here and never leave or go home, come back on a second CP, and then never leave. I'm one of them:thumbsup2

I also know 2 others off the top of my head that have stayed.

One of my roomies from last semester was really stupid and left during his program because of a breakup with someone else on the program. I told him he was dumb and he would end up coming back. Sure enough, he has applied and is waiting on his purple folder to come back.

For a lot of people, once you live here, you just can't go back to where you came from, especially if you're from a small town!

The closest I've been to a depression in my life was the semester in college after the College Program. Once you do it and try to go back to your normal life it's tough. It was then I made the decision to go back for another summer and move to Orlando after I graduated.

How long do you have to stay before you can be called a "Townie"?

Oh...and the movie was Breaking Away.:hippie:

I just got back to Texas after finishing my College Program so I can graduate college. But mark my words, within 72 hours of getting the magical piece of paper saying I'm done with school you will find me back in Orlando looking for an apartment or house.

Corey, I wholeheartedly agree with you. School has been in session for a week and it's the hardest thing ever.
