College Program Room Discount ?

My sister is going to be doing the college program in the Spring, she checks in on Jan 9th. Her and I have been planning to do the Princess 1/2 Marathon and I of course want to get the best deal possible When will she be able to make reservations for the room? Am I correct in assuming that she is going to have to make the reservation to get the discount? Will she have to wait until she is there to make the reservation? Also does anyone know if she gets any discounts on the registration fee for the race? I'm assuming not but it never hurts to ask Thanks!

Oh, while I'm here I should ask one more question that is related - We're planning on staying on property when we go to check her in, is there anyway to get a discount while we're there?

She needs to have HUB access (or at least a perner) in order to reserve a room with a discount, and she won't get that until she has actually arrived and checked in. I think it was the third or fourth day before my daughter had access once she arrived. (this could have changed since last fall)

I am not sure about any marathon discounts for CMs. We are thinking of doing the 5K but it would be nice if there were a discount.

When she makes the reservation can she use my credit card? I would be paying for everything but I suppose if she has to pay with her card I can just send her a check.

She won't be able to make any CM reservations until after she finishes her Traditions class - definately not on the day she moves in. They don't get access to the HUB (the CM online site) until after they finish the Traditions class, and it could be the next day or the day after she checks in. So you might want to make a reservation at the resort you will want, just in case, and then once she has access, she can see if there is availability that weekend.

And if she's thinking of running in the marathon, she should talk to her supervisor right away, because there's no guarantee that she'll be able to take the time off - but if she makes a request right away, they might be able to accomodate her.
