Hi,

I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I recently inhereted about 100 pieces from the Disney Classics collection. My brother and I would like to sell but do not know the first thing about selling this type of collectible. Any advice or links of people that can help us would be greatly appreciated. (and yes, we still have the boxes)

Thank you,

L

I'm in the same boat. I've inherited a bunch of Disney stuff. We have found Local Disney groups on Facebook to contact. Don't hold your breath on this site, it's been two weeks and 200 views and not one answer. Good luck.

I would recommend taking a look at a site that is all about WDCC. I haven't posted enough here yet to put in a URL but just search on "WDCC Duckman". It should come up in any search engine. While it looks like it hasn't been updated in a while, it has excellent background information on the collection line as well as links to each Classics piece with particulars - variances in Production, plussing, etc.

Additionally, within the Duckman's site, is a link to Secondary Market.

A key to keep in mind with the collectibles is whether you have the original box, packaging, and Certificate of Authenticity. having all of those will help with their value. Finally, when all else fails, do a search on Ebay - normally they are found under WDCC or depending if any of the pieces are from one of the conventions - WDAC.

Hope this helps!

Cristi

I know it takes a lot of time but I would try to sell them on eBay. I was into collecting WDCC at one point and bought all of my pieces on eBay.

We have no experts in value on this site so unfortunately you probably won't get much help here. Personally I only collect pins so I wouldn't be much help with anything else.

If you are on Facebook, members in the "WDCC Walt Disney Classics Collection Group" are very helpful. :goodvibes

I have some WDCC that I don't really want anymore too. I have not gotten around to trying to sell them though.

They are not worth all that much, unfortunately. a few might be, though. I remember some from the Disneyana conventions were worth a lot, like the Hitchhiking Ghosts. I have the Pirates Dunking scene, that is from Disneyana too. I was bummed when they began making new PoC scenes, they are on a different scale in size, so they cannot be displayed together. That ticked me off, so I want to sell all the PoC ones I have, lol.

I would say, Ebay is the way to go. A TIP, people shop for collectors on Ebay for the holidays. So, you will get more "hits" if you list in mid November, thru early December. It's a shame, but shipping costs have increased so much in the last 7-8 years. The USPS now considers almost anything as oversized, it seems like, and the WDCC, in their original boxes, are quite large, and you would have to put those boxes inside another shipping box.

Good luck! I may sell some this fall too, not sure.

Your best bet is probably Ebay. There is also a Facebook group you can join and sell on called Walt Disney World Online Yard Sale.

Ebay is your best bet. Do a search for your item, and select the box on the left that says "completed listings". It will show you auctions that have ended and what they went for to get an idea of current price.
