Collecting car from Disney Dolphin?

Hi

We are going to Art of Animation resort in August and I have arranged to pick our car up from the Dolphin resort on our first day. Is there direct transport between the two, or how do I get there?

If we were to go to Magic Kingdom first, can I get to the Dolphin from there and then take the car back to MK?

I would take the monorail to Epcot, walk to the back entrance and take the boat to the dolphin( or just walk ).

To get to the Dolphin from AoA, take the bus to DHS and then either boat or walk to the Dolphin.

From the MK, just take the Dolphin bus directly. Note that the PP's suggestion would require Park Hopper's if you've been into the MK that day since you have to go through the Epcot turnstiles to get to the back entrance from the monorail.

We tried to do this during our previous vacation...we discovered that while the office is at the dolphin, they still take you to the car center near MK. They told us we could have called for pickup from AoA to go directly to the car center and saved ourself the trip. I would call the rental company and look into this option!

Never heard of that before!! There are actual cars at the Dolphin..it's not just an office. Did you just go there, thinking you could get a car there??
I rent from the Dolphin frequently. If at AoA or Pop? I would just take a cab over to the Dolphin..under $10 and very quick. Get the car and off you go.

Thanks for the answers. I have a 14 day Ultimate pass, so no problems with different parks.

Where is the car center and is that any easier than the Dolphin? Coming from the UK and not been before so don't know where anything is!

The Car Care Center is near the entrance to the parking lots for the Magic Kingdom, but you can't walk there. They do, however, provide transportation to the Center from just about anywhere on property, including hotels and parks. You need to call the day before to make a reservation. They will also drive you to wherever you want to go after you drop the car off. It's quite easy. In addition, there is a Hess gas station adjacent to the Center, so you can easily re-fill the gas tank before returning the car. Welcome (in advance) to the United States!!

What time of day did you get there? Perhaps they were out of cars when you arrived. I've had that happen with other rental companies - but rarely.

Don't remember the exact time....early to mid afternoon? It wasn't a huge deal because they got us a shuttle to ride to the car care center...but interesting to hear this is not the norm.
