We went to a Cold Stone Creamery last night. My 17 yo DD had been there before and really likes it. I thought it was very expensive. And, there was a huge line. (The one we went to is in a college town.)

So, have you ever been to one and do you like it?

Been there, and love it! They have excellent ice cream, and their ice cream cakes are even better. Definitely worth the wait. I know, in summer though, we avoid it sometimes cuz its too crowded.

Yummy. Expensive, yes. They were all over in AZ, but I haven't found one here, yet. They would have long lines on the weekends day and night and in the summer, all the time. Wonder why?

I've seen a couple of them, but have never been to it before. The prices are pricier, so I wonder if that is a reason why that one of the creameries in the mall hardly has customers.

We love Cold Stone Creamery. Marble Slab Creamery is great too. I imagine they are same company, different name but don't know.

We love it! We first went to one when my sister and her husband lived in San Diego, unfortunately there aren't too many around here.

There's one down the street from us - I don't think they have any low-carb stuff though! :(

Mom likes it - gotta remember to take her there once in a while.

Marble Slab and Cold Stone are definately not the same company. Very close, but both are owned buy different companies. They are both franchises, and not cheap to own. The CS that was closest to my hose in Mesa closed because CS allowed a new franchise to be built 3 miles away, and all the business went to the new store. With the prices they charge, and the competition from Baskin-Robbins and Dairy Queen, they had to shut down with out any notice.

Now I did research and the closest one to me is about 38 miles away. Too far, for sure.

There are about 3 or 4 Cold Stone Creamerys here in Richmond, one is opening soon about 2 miles away.

They're good, but there's a MaggieMoo's near us that IMO is better.

I guess I'm in the minority. CSC ice cream is way too rich for me. It tastes like a stick of sweetened butter - yuck! I wonder how it compares calorie and fatwise to other ice creams?

WE just recently got a Marble Slab Creamery here and it is always crowded! It is good icecream but I do not think it is worth the wait.

It's alright, but in my opinion, NOTHING beats Ritter's Frozen Custard!

LOVE Cold Stone Creamery!!
LOVE Marble Slab Ice Cream!!
LOVE Maggie Moo's Ice Cream!!

All are similar concepts, but are not owned by the same company. For those of you unfamiliar, they have lots of different flavors of ice cream, and you have the option of mixing in other ingredients...(and they mix it up on a cold piece of marble or stone to keep it from melting too much while it's mixed...hence the names....and MM has a funny cow as their logo...)

Imagine...
Peanut butter ice cream with chocolate chips and a few spoons of peanut butter mixed in....

Cheesecake ice cream with fresh raspberries and white chocolate chips mixed in....

Cinnamon ice cream with heath bar....

Caramel ice cream with peanuts and chocolate chips....

Mango ice cream with fresh raspberries and strawberries...

An indulgence worth every penny! The Marble Slab we used to go to in Jacksonville usually had a line of 30-40 people Friday and Saturday nights. We'd pull a number and go next door to Borders for 10-15 minutes to browse.... Well worht the wait....

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM :D

We have a Marble Slab here in Norman.

We also have Rusty's Frozen Custard. I think that one is locally owned. Both are good, but I think I like the custard a little better.

I saw one of these in Pigeon Forge TN and the first thing that came to mind was a funeral home. Am I the only one who thought this? - Just curious:teeth:

they opened up a csc here in staten island bout a month ago. they have the BEST shakes there. i try not to go there too much cuz of my weight issue. lol. its very good tho.

I went to my first one in Orlando about 2 months ago and it was pretty good! They had king cake ice-cream, which tasted absolutely nothing like it! I'll be going again the next time i'm up there to try something else...
