Cold or Allergy?

I'm confused.:confused3

This past Friday afternoon, I started to feel tired. My sinuses also felt kind of achy, although I had no congestion. I figured I was just tired. On top of it, my DD (15) had a HORRENDOUS cold, so the thought occurred that I might be getting this and I started the Zicam swabs on Friday evening.

Woke up Saturday morning. No worse. I was achy and tired all day, though, and again, my sinuses just felt funny. I didn't have a fever. On Saturday evening, I had a few "hard" sneezed. My DD said "Uh oh, you sound like you're getting my cold." Continued with the Zicam.

On Sunday, I felt about the same again. No changes. Lower body aches. My friend told me that the pollen count for trees had just started and it was pretty high. She thought maybe it might be an allergy. I do have some allergies but they are genuinely mild. I stopped the Zicam.

Yesterday, I go to work and I didn't feel to bad in the A.M. I had to leave work early as my DD's cold was getting her down so badly and she couldn't handle school. Later in the afternoon, I was feeling bad again. Predominantly tired and achy. I checked my temp and the highest it ever got was 99.3. A little nasal congestion and VERY minor coughing. Went to bed and woke up at 2:00 a.m with congestion (mild) and mainly achiness. I took some Tylenol and that seemed to help. Dragged myself to work and I just feel tired, achy, and some nasal congestion.

My eyes don't itch. It just doesn't feel like an allergy nor does it feel like a true cold. I just don't feel well.

What do you think? Have you ever had anything like this?

Sounds like you have the flu to me. Redular colds don't usually make me achy, so when I get achy, I assume it is the flu. I wonder if you should call your doctor and see if it's not too late to take some Tamiflu (or whatever it is that is supposed to make the flu end sooner).

Hope you are feeling better, soon. :flower3:

I have absolutely NO fever and I am able to function. I just feel less than 100%.

The biggest indicator for me: if I'm still interested in food, it's just allergies. If I don't feel well enough to eat I'm probably knocking on death's door. Or at least something more significant than allergies.

Hope you feel better soon!

Waaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!

Now I'm miserable. Why on earth did I stop my Zicam on Sunday? I should have kept it up. I wonder how long this will last....:sad1:

Yeah, I hope this thing blows through.

The weird part about it is that it seems to have been trying to "get me" since Friday. I haven't felt well since then. Now, on Wednesday, it is a full blown cold. I still have the body aches too. But no fever.

It can't last forever.
