Cold beer, July heat

I was just thinking it would be nice if a person could get a cold beer during my upcoming July vacation. Is there any such place to get a cold beer on a hot July day in the Magic Kingdom? I can think of a couple places in Epcot but not MK.

Not in MK. You can anywhere else but MK is a dry park unless you have dinner in the Be Our Guest Restaurant. The beers there are pricey, but they do have Chimay Blue which is worth whichever price they choose to apply.

I was afraid of that :(
thanks for your response.

Hop on the resort monorail and get off at the Contemporary. Take the Escalator to the 4th floor concourse, following signs for Chef Mickey. On your left just before you get there, you will see the Outer Rim Lounge. My man Ray will set you up with a nice, cold brew there at the bar. :drinking1

I agree to leave the MK for a short break, and go to any of the monorail resorts. The counter service places will have a limited selection of beer or wine, and it makes a nice little break!

sounds like a good plan. :)

We really like to head out of the park after the day parade, it's hot, we need a break from the crowds, the people and the sun. We like the Polynesian or Grand Floridian for wine/cocktails, but really any resort monorail will work.
-Contemp has Outer Rim, the Wave lounge, or opening later, the California Grill lounge which has AMAZING views of the Bay Lake area!
-Poly you can sit upstairs outside Ohana for a lapu lapu, hit up Trader Sams for some themed tiki fun, or hit up the pool bar for a pog juice with rum in it!
-Grand Floridian, I prefer Mizners, friendlier bartenders (unless Matt or Courtney's over at Citricos that day)
-You can also grab a beer from any of the counter service areas in these resorts!
Our days almost always consist of a nice midday break to relax while MK is just too crowded and busy with not much to do, then we head back into the park for the evening festivities

Add me to the list of monorail-hoppers! We love to do a little tour around Mizners (second floor of GF), Trader Sam's/Tambu Lounge (by Ohana), and Outer Rim (tucked away by Chef Mickey's) are all great. I'm not a beer drinker but they should all have a nice selection. Also great to get some apps at the Poly for a bit of a more substantial break! I avoid the Counter Service locations though I prefer the laid-back atmosphere of the lounges.

Are any of these lounges open around 3:00?

I want to say Mizner's opens first, but I can't recall. I know I've had issues with the Tambu Lounge not being open until Ohana opens up (4pm maybe - Dinnertime).

Pretty sure The Wave is open from noon until whenever dinner ends and the bar there has a very good beer selection along with the ability to order from the restaurant menu.
Thanks! Looking at the weather for the coming week. Sunny & hot! Afternoon breaks are critical :)

The Wave is definitely open in the afternoons, and it's never crowded at that time. It's our little secret getaway from MK crowds and heat. :ssst:

I feel like I remember Tambu being open by 3, but I'm not absolutely sure. Outer Rim went for a long time being closed in the afternoons but may have changed hours more recently...
