I googled but only found answers from early 2014.

Is Joffrey's still the coffee served on DCL?

Thanks!!

I've never had a problem with the coffee served on DCL. Only recall one place it was bad and that was at a place outside of DLR. Nothing we did could make it taste decent. We tried brewing with less water, adding in flavored creamer-it was just gross. My mom went next door to Denny's to get us coffee every morning.

Just got back from my cruise this past weekend and the coffee was fantastic! So much that I'm currently searching to find which exact flavor of Joffrey's it was

Is Joffrey's coffee good ?

We did not like the coffee - at all. I know it is a matter of taste but both my spouse and I thought it was the worst coffee we have ever tasted. We took turns running up to the Cove in the mornings and buying coffee and then just drinking juice with our breakfast. We loved the food, mixed drinks, etc. but the coffee ... :crazy2:

Trying not to start another separate coffee thread...

I feel like everywhere I look, I can't find the brand of the room service coffee. I've searched and searched and all that comes up is Joffrey's now being the self-serve brand, but nothing on room service. It's safe to say that they are different coffees, but the room service is much better. Could it be Illy? Or a different Joffrey's blend?

Room service coffee doesn't have a brand it comes prepared and is standard ship coffee.

The coffee on the Magic a few weeks ago was dreadful. It is so watered down that DH and I would have tea with breakfast then head to Cove Cafe for a cappuccino with a double shot of espresso.

The espresso at Palo was wonderful and the espresso in the MDR was sometimes bitter, but it was drinkable. The manager in Palo told DH and me that the ships are suppose to be getting one of the single serve capsule coffee, such as Nespresso or Illy, which would be fantastic. :)

We have a Nespresso machine at home. I hated the coffee on the Magic this summer. I got my morning fix at the Cove, but since I wasn't willing to spend to drink the 3-5/day I normally drink at home, I came home seriously decaffienated!

It has to come from somewhere though? Disney owns their own coffee plantations? Would be a smart move I suppose.

House coffee the same as house wine or house beer, it's where their buyers get the best deal so it can change they go out to suppliers with tenders and then their offered the best price. It likely to be a blend if a number of plantations.

Of course if dome do not like it they can go to Cove Cafe, or

Bring their own on board, that's allowed!

I was told that it is still Joffrey's.

Makes sense, thanks!

Still Joffrey's. Actually, it hasn't been Joffrey's all that long. They were in the process of switching out the Nescafe machines for Joffrey's when we were sailing on the Fantasy last May ('14).

Joffrey's isn't great, but it's worlds better than the flavorless swill known as Nescafe.

We bring a French Coffee Press and our own coffee. :coffee:

Do you have a favorite french press for travel, and do you use the hot "tea" water at the drink station? Or order hot water from room service? I hadn't thought of this option. Intrigued... :) :) :)

I got an unbreakable one at Bed Bath and Beyond (Bonjour brand). I use the hot water from the coffee machines at the drink stations. I haven't used the hot water from room service. You could try it; if it doesn't work you could go to the drink station.
