Does anyone know if AKL uses the new Pod coffee makers? Thanks! :thumbsup2

Where/how can we get these 'pods'? We are 21 days from our trip and I was thinking we would bring regular ground coffee and additional filters like we have done in the past. Glad I ran into this post because we may have wasted room in our suitcases with things we don't need.

We are Keurig owners......is it like that and do you know if their cups work in the Pod coffee maker?

The K-Cups will not work in the pod machines unfortunately. The image below shows what the coffee pods look like that are used in the pod machines. Hope this helps!

how many pods did you get I have heard that they only give one then you have to buy additional ones. Know that could be DVC might be getting my threads confused. But I atleast need one cup of coffee every morning.

DVC villas still have Mr Coffee style coffee pots. 10-12 cups, basket style filter.

Thanks for the info. When we were at the Poly in March we had the Pod coffee makers, just wanted to make sure AKL had them also.

Each day we were left 2 pods, but all I had to do was ask mousekeeping for a few more one day. :) The coffee was actually not too bad!

NEW WDW ROOM COFFEE COMING TO WDW RESORTS: (3/26/2012)

1) Resorts are converting to Cuisinart dual-cup "pod" coffee makers.
. . . the coffee is 100% Arabica bean, very tasty
. . . eventually all resorts will have these during 2012
. . . some DVC rooms might remain with "Mr Coffee" style pots
. . . brews one cup at-a-time, or two cups side-by-side simultaneously
. . . brews 8-oz cup of coffee in less than 3 minutes
. . . illuminated power button and shuts off when water reservoir is empty
. . . separate water reservoir for each side
. . . one side can make coffee while other side does plain water for tea
. . . mugs are provided in room, but uses any standard size cup or mug
2) Each Cuisinart pod filter makes one cup of brew.
. . . decaffeinated and decaffeinated coffee pods are provided in each room
. . . maids will give more pods if asked, not just the two pods supplied
. . . teas bags are also in each room
. . . tea bags are Twinings Earl Grey Black and Twinings Green Tea
3) Pods:
. . . these are not k-cup pods/inserts, but are standard coffee "pods"
. . . they look much like tea a bag without a string, except, filled with coffee
. . . only one pod can be inserted at a time into each slide tray
. . . there are other pods that are available on the open market or Internet

NOTE: All resorts are converting to these pod coffee makers. As an example,
Grand Floridian was converted in February, 2012.

NOTE2: We were told that the Cuisanart was selected due to both price and
the "pod" filters. With the pods, guests are less likely to take extra coffee packs
home, since they can't use them in typical home pots like Mr Coffee or Keurig.
This saves a lots of coffee money.

When I checked into AKL I had 2 regular and 2 decaffeinated pods provided - enough to make 2 cups of coffee each regular or decaf. I was a party of one.

Yikes! We are going to have four adults who will need lots of coffee (five kids are going to be with us and we are staying six nights :) ) Does the coffee pods increase depending on the stay and people ?
