it seems to me that I've seen posts mentioning that there are no filters for the brewer. Silly question I am sure but, if that is the case, is it a flat bottom or a cone filter?

We have a metal filter so while I will remember to pack the coffee, I'll forget the filters unless I make a specific note!

Thanks

Wow, I've spent quite a while searching and was surprised that the type of coffee filter was not in some of the lists that I've seen on this topic.

We stayed there in 2003 so I don't think it would be useful for me to check on what type it was then (mr. coffee style from what I recall). However, I do remember that the trading post has both styles available. Of course, you could always grab a few dozen of each style and place them in a zip-lock bag.

Sort of on-topic; one of the things that I enjoy the most about the Fort is having a good cup of coffee in the morning. We have stayed many times at the other resorts, and while I did enjoy an early morning walk to the food court or restaurant for the coffee with my youngest son who is also an early riser, the Nescafe was not my favorite brew.

You will really enjoy your stay. The cabins are very relaxing.

Most threads will say that the fort does not supply coffee filters...and they probably DIDNT untill the last year or so. I was in a cabin in Dec 2007...and the coffee grinds were sealed into the filter. The type you rip open the Folgers(I think was the brand) package...and theres a premeasured little round filter with the grinds inside of the filter...also in the package is some sugars and sweet&low, napkins and stirrers. So, they DO have filters...just not the empty type your used to seeing....we had enough coffee packages under our sink to keep us awake for weeks if we needed it!!

It's the flat bottom Mr. Coffee type filter.

We puchased a package of them and now the remainder are sitting in the packing drawer for the next time we go.

I will get some Mr Coffee flat filters! We will bring our own coffee (coffee snobs lol), the kind they put in the pre-made filters never cuts it for us unless we are desperate.

Of course you can always use a paper towel as a filter when truly desperate...I've been known to carefully tear open the premade one and reposition carefully as well :)

I am so excited!

The cabins actually have 2 coffee pots. There is a larger one....12 cups which takes the larger basket filter. The smaller pot..4 cups...takes the smaller 4 cup basket filter. We take our own coffee along (we're Starbucks snobs) and do not use their coffee.

Sounds to me like a GREAT reason to go back !:thumbsup2
Waste not want not.
