I was planning on bringing my 4 cup coffee maker since I've heard how awful the coffee was. I am a Starbucks nut though and love my fancy coffee drinks. Where can I get some at MK, Epcot, and HS? Should I even bother bringing the coffee pot?

There are coffee stands that will do specialty coffee drinks run by Joffreys Coffee in Epcot (both FW and WS), outside the Epcot gates, and at TTC. The Joffreys stands do not accept the Disney Dining Plan though.

The Swan and Dolphin resorts serve Starbucks coffee in their restaurants and coffee shop, but they do not have a Starbucks outlet for specialty drinks. Again, not on the dining plan.

Thanks Nala! It doesn't have to be Starbucks brand. Any frou frou coffee drink will do, lol. I know they have somewhere that sells them in HS but I don't know where.

I really have liked the vanilla lattes I have gotten at the Kona Island coffee bar. The cheese danishes are super good, too. I'm planning on trying the coffee bar at the Contemporary, I believe it is called Contemporary Grounds.

Epcot: The coffee stand in between the UK and Canada is good, too. As is the stand near Mission Space. Also check the Tanigerine Cafe. They have some really great coffee here like their Moorish which has nutmeg and cinnamon. They also have some coffee with spirits. Kringla Bakeri og Cafe does this as well. Hoping to try the one with Bailey's this year.

MK: Main Street Bakery is suppose to have decent coffee, but I haven't checked it out yet.

AK: Decent coffee can be found at Royal Anandapur Tea Company, but what I really love their is the chai. Yum!

Can't help with DHS.. Sorry!

As for DTD - I love Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop! Yummy ice cream and coffee!

If we were driving (I hope that never happens since we're coming from Idaho) or if I had a Owner's Locker, I'd consider buying a small Keurig, but otherwise I wouldn't bother with bringing a coffee maker.

Oh! And I did bring some Via with me last year and I didn't even use it. :lmao:

The Writer's Stop at HS has excellant coffee drinks. It is just down the lane from Star Tours. And if it is needed....there is a smoking spot in between.

Thank you! I'll stop by there and try to hide the smoking area from my husband (doctor told him to quit but he's not cooperating), lol.

I had a cappuccino from the Writer's Stop and I thought it was terrible! I used a snack credit for it and to add the extra flavor was $0.99 and would have used another credit (this was 2 years ago). I paid cash for the flavor, but after throwing out the drink, I vowed never to go back! To each their own though, maybe it's better now.

Epcot has 3 coffee stands that see Joffee's coffee and it is very good.

AKL has a similar stand

ABSOLUTELY bring your coffee pot if you are staying anywhere other than Poly or CR!!:thumbsup2. In my experience WDW coffee tastes so bad:sad2:
I'm the type that can't even speak till I've had my morning coffee. It's an absolute must as soon as I drag my butt out of bed. So coffee in the room while we get ready for the day. I bring my own coffee from home. I've even been known to bring our room-brewed coffee with me to the food court.(shhh)

I've enjoyed a cappachino or two at the Writers stop a few times. Sometimes it's great. Others not so much. Maybe it depends on who has barista duties that day.

ETA: OK I obviously need another cup. Just realized that unless you are staying at a value resort, there is already a coffee pot in the room. DOH!! But you will need to bring your own coffee and filters that fit a 4 cup machine.

We had a small coffee pot in the room at POR. So we brought our own coffee, measuring spoon and filters. The filters were too big, so we cut them down (I tore them with my fingers, but you could use scissors). That worked fine, and it was a pleasure to have my favorite coffee each morning. :)

If your someone who needs your coffee to get going in the morning, get some VIA or bring your pot. The coffee at Disney is lowest-common-denomenator type stuff, barely even worth being called "coffee."

They do sell press pots of coffee at Kona, the AKL, and some of the other restaurants, so if you're into it, those are worth checking out.

Flavored VIA w/ hot milk tastes almost the same as a latte, btw. It comes in mocha, caramel, vanilla, and cinnamon spice. My favorite is the cinnamon. :hippie:

ETA: Also, you might want to consider using bottled water to brew your coffee. Sounds silly, but the water at Disney tastes a little weird (or at least quite different from my water at home, and probably yours, too), and that really, really affects how your coffee tastes.

The water in the whole Kissimmee/Lake Buena Vista area has mild-to-moderate sulfur smell and taste. Good coffee can be found, but you have to work at it! I was taken in by another website's claim that "real" coffee was to be had from a wagon on the MK hub. NOT TRUE! The charming CM didn't even understand what she was selling, but she was definitely charming. She offered to add another "shot" to my coffee to increased the flavor whe I mentioned that it was not the real coffee I had been seeking. :rolleyes1 Funny how another "shot" of that colored syrup does nothing to improve the dark, foul-tasting swill. I smiled, thanked her, and dropped the cup in the nearest trash can, out of her sight.

It still baffles me how Disney can do so much, so well, but not when it comes to coffee. :confused3 Disneyland is even worse than WDW!

You all are so great! Thank you. I need to get different filters for my small pot. So thank you for reminding me. I think I'll use my filtering water bottle to fill the pot. Don't want sulfur coffee, lol!

The best coffee spot I've found at Disney is in the lobby of the Contemporary.

There are also a few good kiosks around Epcot (one in FutureWorld near Energy and another in World Showcase just as you enter from FutureWorld).

Unfortunately, all of these places are consistently understaffed, often with one person to make the fancy drinks AND ring you up. So the waits can be crazy.
