Coffee at the Resorts

If I want to have a coffee at the resort (Pop) do I need to buy a refillable mug? Is the coffee dispersed with the chip as the pop is? Can I just buy a cup of coffee and not a mug? Seems expensive if DH only wants an occasional coffee. I guess I could take a jar of instant and get hot water but that seems a bit of a pain.
TIA

If you just want to buy a single cup of coffee, rather than the refillable mug, just go right to the cashier. Back in January a single cup was around $2.39 if I remember correctly. The cashier gives you the cup and you then go fill it yourself.

The coffee cups are not chipped.

I bring a small travel Black & Decker single cup coffee maker with the small #1 filters (got it from Amazon, roughly $15). It comes with 2 travel mugs, but I may order a prime pantry box & get disposable coffee cups. I use some good Cafe Bustelo espresso ground coffee. Make much better coffee to me, and I like to have it in the room. Honestly, it doesn't take up much suitcase space.

I'd prefer not to have to get dressed and go get coffee, but to each his own!

I just set it up on the table, and it doesn't take much space so we still have room to use the table for eating for 2 (sometimes the food court is noisy, so we'll bring trays back to the room - they will give you covers for your plates and bowls).

Unfortunately this isn't an option for me. We are going 11/25 and would be staying one night before our 7 night cruise out of Port Canaveral. After the cruise we have 4 nights booked at CR.
Between Fish Extender and clothes, pirate costumes, etc, I doubt I will have 1/4 of an inch of luggage space left.lol I am actually having a box of 'winter clothes' shipped to the contemporary before our arrival so I will have more space in luggage for the cruise.

For coffee, you don't need a refillable mug. You can purchase a styrofoam cup from the cashier.

IIRC, coffee, hot water, iced tea, and hot chocolate are not chipped. Only the soda fountains are chipped.

We had refillable mugs, but I still brought my own Starbucks VIA instant coffee. I would throw a packet into the mug then head over to the food court for hot water and milk. Worked out pretty well.

I started bringing 4-packs of the Starbucks iced coffee w/milk that you can find at a grocery store. I don't care for hot coffee when the weather is hot so I put them in the fridge when I arrive in the room & I'm set for my morning coffee. FYI - if you choose to do this, keep in mind some of the mini fridges at values work pretty well IME so don't leave it on the highest setting if you only have the coffee & some water in it. I learned that the hard way...

If you're like me, you won't need half the stuff you bring on the cruise, too! We took so much stuff, snorkels & fins even. If I ever cruise again, I'm bringing one suitcase and that's it!

We did a quick 2 night stay at Pop spring break before our week at AKL Kidani, and so for those 2 nights I just bought a couple Monster energy drinks or iced coffees from the food court the night before. It was fine - not hot coffee but I got my caffeine fix.
