Cody Posey was sentenced today

Tragic case all around. No question he was horribly abused by his stepfather for many years. Where were all of these people when he was being abused? So many people claim to have witnessed the abuse. Even his school was aware of it. Doesn't New Mexico have required reporters?

There are no winners in this case.

Well, I don't care if I get flamed............Too bad he didn't get sentenced as an adult. Maybe some can understand/excuse him killing his father (the alleged abuser), but his stepmother was murdered also. AND he murdered his stepsister so she couldn't tell on him...........SHE didn't abuse him.

Another thing (which was not brought out, but folks in this area are well aware of) is the fact that there is a long line of mental illness in his family (which has also been untreated). So was it post traumatic stress????????Or a hereditary mental illness???????? No one treated the mental illness just as no one persued the alleged child abuse allegations.

Bet he'll be back in the headlines in years to come
