Code names or nick names for unborn babies

Jelly Bean for both. We didn't find out the sex of the babies. My one called hers lil monster.

We didnt know if ours were boys or girls, yes each had a "name" - Aggie (we were looking through a name book and Agamemnon was listed Dh thought it was funny so she was Aggie. Biff for #2 because all she did was punch and kick, and Cosmo, as in Kramer from Seinfeld just because. Each has a build a bear withe their "name"

I called my son Junior before he was born...even before I knew if he was a boy or a girl.

I also used several other names as the months of never-ending morning sickness wore on. Damien (form the Omen) being a favorite. Never used Damien again after I felt a bit better at 5-6 months. Junior has rarely been used since birth.

We didn't find out the gender for any of ours.
During the first pregnancy we started calling him Baby Boo, and it morphed into Baboo. It took DH a few weeks to start calling him Jacob.
The second baby we called Wiggles. Mostly because Jacob was not yet 2, and when I would hold him, the baby would wiggle/kick enough that he would notice.
Third baby....I honestly don't remember! Terrible!

My friend used "Bubba" for her daughter and another friend...her baby was so active and she just knew it was a boy. They didn't have any screening done or anything but she said it wasn't even a hunch - she 'knew' so she called him Jigdancin' Jeffrey.

Cletus. Short for Cletus the Fetus. Until she had a gender and a name and after that she was just Anna.

No nicknames here. I either refer to her as "the baby" or "little sister" if I'm talking about the baby to my daughter. I don't think I talk about the baby that much to need a nickname. She doesn't do much in utero other than move around, kick and hiccup--I don't feel the need to go talking about her all the time until she's here in a few weeks.

We called him Mistletoe. We were pretty sure he was conceived on Christmas Eve.

We called our 3rd Chewbacca during the entire pregnancy. We found out in the last month that my mom thought we were serious about naming her that and was calling all of her friends to complain about how terrible it was.

My friend named hers Dudly DoRight. One co-worker didn't get what she was doing and through that was indeed the name of the future baby.

Just add me to the club that didn't have nicknames and personally think its a little weird. We just called them the baby or he/him (once we found out they were boys). We had picked their names fairly early, but didn't really use those much since we didn't share them until they were born.

DH and I had decided that we were not announcing our son's name until he was born - it actually took us several weeks to determine his name but I ultimately wanted to make sure that it fit him. We started to refer to DS as Little Dude because of that. It didn't really stick after he was born. I am not a huge fan of calling unborn babies by their names. Not really sure why

We didn't know what either of our kids were. I don't really remember what we called them or if we had any nickname (its been over 20 years), but I do remember my Dad called them Fetus.

I just read a book where they called it Bud, which was cute because it stood for Baby Under Development, plus it was a new life that was starting to blossom.

We called my nephew BH. It was short for Baby Haddad. He was also called Helicopter for awhile haha. That was because his older cousin was 3 when the family found out my sister in law was pregnant and when we asked him what he thought the babies name should be he said helicopter. We all had a good laugh and he didn't understand why it was funny because he was being 100% serious. So for awhile helicopter stuck. We don't call him that now that he has a name but he is still referred to as BH every once in a while.

I am sure I will probably use nicknames once I have kids as I use nicknames for everything. I tend to call little things "nugget" or "bean" so we will see what happens. My fiance doesn't like to refer to babies as their names until they are born as he thinks it is bad luck. He is a very old soul when it comes to babies and if he has his way the nursery won't even happen until the kid is on the way.

When I first found out I was pregnant we called the baby "Lil'One". Once I found out it was a boy, we called him "Lil'Man" or by his actual name after we finally made that decision. This might sound silly but on my way to work each morning, I would talk to the baby. Give him the low-down on the plans for the day. I always liked to say "Good morning, Lil'One or Good morning Lil'Man...here is what we are doing to day! If it was going to be a rough day, I'd ask him to go easy on Mommy in the morning sickness or kicking depts! If people could have heard me, they would have thought I was nuts!!

I still call him "Lil'Man" and on we carry on the same type of convo as I take him to Grandma's each morning! I guess the routine just sort of stuck
