"Code" for when tink will fly?

DH is convinced that there is some type of "code" that MK does before tink is supposed to fly that will let everyone know (CM's maybe??) if she is or is not flying. I told him I've been on these boards for months and never heard anything like that. Anyone have any insight?

Not that I was made aware of in 2004. However, there was not a single night that I worked there that Tink didn't fly (which was a good thing because I always picked a family and positioned them perfectly so they could see her from Fantasyland).

I think it's been pretty consistent for years that Tink flies if weather permits. If it's very windy then, uh, she will almost certainly not fly. If the weather is iffy it could be a last minute call.

I've never heard of there being a code. I suppose you could tell by the weather because she won't fly if its really windy. If you have a good eye, you could probably tell 2 seconds beforehand if you see someone getting hurled over a ledge. But that's about the only thing.

That's pretty funny because I didn't want to ruin it for poor DH about her.

1) The castle platform and Cafe platform communicate with walkie-talkies.
2) There is no "code".

NOTE: I work with an ex-Tink. She was a gymnast, then Tink, then mother.
The extra weight after the pregnancy disqualified her from "flying", as there is
a strict hgt/wgt limit. Normally, they queue up by the music and wait for the
verbal "GO" queue. On the "iffy" nights, they dress, rig/hookup, and wait for
the "all clear" before entering the platform, then wait for a positive "GO". After
a "GO", they turn on her suit lights, and off she goes. They are VERY careful.

NOTE2: Tinks work 4-hours per "flying day", and are paid handsomely. There
are four Tinks, and at this time, one is a male flyer.

Where in Fantasyland would be the best place? My boys have never seen Tink fly!

You don't want to see her from Fantasyland.
(There is only a very narrow place to see her from Fantasyland.)

You really want to see her from the other side of the Castle (the "front" side)
while standing in the Hub or the northern third of Main Street.

You want to be able to see the new "show" that is actually projected on the front of the Castle,
"Celebrate the Magic," which begins about 15 minutes before the fireworks.

Below is a rough estimate of the Fireworks viewing spots
based on other posters' info on the boards and personal experience.

Do they change up the music of the show when she doesn't fly? If I recall it's fairly choreographed to have her in it and it would seem odd to have that dead time of music crescendos and nothing happening.

We've been here all week and she has not flown ONCE:( It has been pretty breezy, especially in the evenings.

"tinker BILL":lmao:

This is taken from outside The Crystal Palace... you can see the wire set in the picture, so I would imagine that in front of Crystal Palace is a good spot to see it...

*Sorry it's soo big!

The wire in the picture is the cable TV line so Prince Charming can watch ESPN.

Yup. When I went last January, I made sure I saw Wishes cause I kept missing it on my previous trips, and I hadn't seen Tink "fly" in years. Then, no Tink. Wah-wah.

Where are the construction walls around the hub and will they affect viewing at all?

Thanks!

You may need to update this with the construction around the castle. As of Wednesday you could not see from in front of The Plaza any more due to a tall construction wall. Those tables are smushed up against it :-)

We've always watched Tink fly from the bridge between the hub and Tomorrowland. We've always been able to find a good spot, even during the busy Christmas season.
