we are driving to Florida from Virginia. Has anyone stayed in Cocoa Beach prior to your cruse? Any hotel recommendations?

We stayed at the Four Points. It was clean but very basic. I'm a it of a hotel snob though.

In our opinion, it seems like much of the "space coast" was left in a time warp following the devastating economic impact of the reduction in the space program. Many of the hotels looked old school - but at the same time, ours was clean and had new furnishings. Keep that in mind as you look for a hotel and don't expect a lot of 4* offerings like you would at other beach resorts.

We have stayed at the Radisson 3 times and used their park and cruise package. Parked the car their for entire cruise and use their shuttle to and from the Port. Hotel was nice and has a nice pool. Shuttle can be a little hectic the morning you leave, but it's very convenient. We decided to park at the Port for our upcoming cruise and will be staying at the Hampton Cocoa Beach which gives a 40% off voucher for port parking. It has excellent reviews on TripAdvisor.

We've stayed at the Courtyard Marriott a few times. I like it. It is an older hotel but very clean and a top notch staff.
It has a nice pool and it's a short walk to the beach.

Don't stay in Courtyard Marriott. Awful- worst courtyard I have ever stayed in, very run down

I'll second this! I stayed there last month prior to our cruise and it was horrible. We had the deal where you could leave your car there for the duration of your cruise and they provided shuttles to the port. First of all, the room stunk like mold. Then, the shuttle program was so unorganized that we said screw it and ended up taking an Uber to port. When I returned to the hotel after the cruise, I walked over to my car and saw a huge rock laying next to it. Immediately I could tell something was off. Sure enough, there was a huge dent in the hood of my car. I even parked as close as possible to the lobby. Definitely not the best way to end the cruise.

Don't stay at the Fairfield Inn in Titusville. Had a horrible experience there.

The Hampton of Cocoa Beach is a good rate for a nice stay. They also have a park and cruise package as well as a stay and cruise package. If looking at staying close to port, the Country Inn is nice and so is the Raddison.

Historically, we've always stayed at the Hyatt Regency at the Airport pre-cruise, but we get bored waiting around the airport. So based on positive reviews I've seen here on the DIS, we are going to try something new when we cruise next Spring....we will stay at the Comfort Inn and Suites Cocoa Beach. We can't drive in like you, so we will be taking advantage of their "Fly, Snooze, Cruise" package, which you can only book by calling the hotel directly.

"... the Fly, Snooze & Cruise Package, offers travelers who are flying in to Orlando International Airport their hotel stay for one night, transfer from the airport to the hotel, welcome cocktail for each adult, game tokens in the game room for the children, free Hot breakfast for each registered guest, the transfer to the ship, and when the ship returns, transfer back to the airport."

They also offer a park & cruise option.

We've stayed at the Sheraton Four Points and have been very pleased with it. It is a short walk to the beach and it is next door to the Ron Jon Surf Shop. Also many dining options near by.

Stayed at Best Western based on price. Mixed reviews. Found smell of mold in some of the motel rooms, however in the hotel did not find that in the rooms. I would stay there again.

I've stayed at Country Inn and Suites. They have decent sized rooms, a nice pool, free breakfast and a park and cruise shuttle for a price. They are also the closest hotel to the cruise terminal. That said, there is not much else around there. But if you'll have your car, the beach is only a ten minute drive. We rented chairs, boogey boards and beach toys from a nearby place and spent two days on the beach near Cocoa Beach Pier. There are decent restaurants less than a five minute drive from there as well.
Next door to them is a Residence Inn, which I hear is pretty much the same as CI&S.

We've stayed at the Double Tree Inn on Cocoa Beach and really enjoyed it. It is directly on the beach and we could see the Dream from our room. The room we had was excellent and we received a voucher for a free drink of each of us plus those yummy cookies.

We stayed at Hampton Inn, it is in need of being updated. The rate is good and you get a free breakfast. Main thing for me besides the room being clean was there was no bed bugs. I tore the bed apart looking for bed bugs before committing to the room. There is a boardwalk to the beach (if you want to swim with the sharks).
