We return from our Eastern Cruise on 7/17/04, but our flight home isn't until 7/18. Was thinking of staying at the beach for the night. Anyone have a sugestion for a nice Cocoa Beach hotel? Would like ocean front.

but the holiday inn express was very nice. It was about a block walk to the ocean. It was very clean and quiet. That is were we stayed in Aug before our cruise.

We'll be staying @ the Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach before our cruise in Feb. I've heard it's really nice & near the ocean, but I'm not sure if it's directly on the ocean. It's near Ron Jon's. Cathie:boat: :grouphug:

We stayed at the Marriott which is right next to the Hampton. It is very, very close to the beach. They can not call it ocean front, but it is a short walk down a path. I think it is as close as you can get without paying the higher prices of the actual oceanfront.

We will be staying at the Hampton's this summer also. We got it for $89 which includes breakfast.

The location seems to be very close to alot of stores. As Cathie mentioned, Ron Jon's is right down the street. Also, a grocery store, fast food, ice cream. Right across the street is another gift shop. I can't remember the name, but it is pretty good. In fact, we liked it more than Ron Jon's. Sorry, I thought that they had more reasonable prices.

If you do go across the street to that gift shop, watch out for the henna tatoos. We got them and were pretty disappointed. If you do get one, plan on not going near the water. Even though I waited long enough, mine still wore off by the next day. They told us it would last for a week.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn the night before our cruise in November & really liked it. You can walk to the beach through a short path. You can see the ocean from your room. The hotel was clustered with Marriott & another one, but I forget the name. All 3 looked great. Hampton has a nice breakfast bar which is included, a small but very nice pool, a block from Ron Jon's & across the street from Winn Dixie for supplies. There is complimentary internet access in the lobby. You just have to sign out a keyboard, which was pretty nice. It's very clean, staff is friendly & it's on the same side of the street as Perfect Gift & Avis, so no fighting traffic on A1A. We has a Hilton Honors reward we used for an oceanview room, but I think the rooms go for $89 to $109 a night. Check the Hilton site, as they run specials & you can get a good rate. I think they also have AAA rates too. I liked the Hampton much better than the Radisson. When we stayed at the Radisson in 2001, it was a bit run down & very busy with cruisers, so we tried the Hampton & we were very pleased...

Hi there,
Staying in "downtown" of Cocoa Beach is really not bad - as mentioned here you are close to almost everything including the beach - also the souviener shop is called Beach Unlimited and they have numberous "bargains" - The Wakulla Motel is being renovated and it really looks great - in fact they are even adding to it - also what use to be Shoney's in front of the Hampton Inn has been torn down and I understand another small restaurant is going up in its place - As for the henna tatoo shop, I forgot its name which is on the corner of 520 and A1A has had some problems with complaints on the tatoo not standing up to par - appears to me it would be better to just buy a temp, put it anywhere and then remove with oils when ready - do they last? Heck yes, I have had a lot of fun with them - Holiday Inn Express is a nice place tho they are accross from everything including the beach and crossing over to the other side is like trying to walk in a field of eggs without squashing them - I do tho live right in back of the Holiday Inn Express - you can hang out the back and I can see ya to wave to you :p -------Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach are expanding that is for sure --
Hope you all have a fun time while here --stop at the shop if you get the chance - I know I always enjoy it.
Much love
Always
Shirley
