I would like to bid on this hotel thru Priceline which I have never done before. It is my understanding that you can not ask for a specific hotel and you can only bid once - is that correct? Is this the only 3star hotel in Cocoa Beach? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. :)

The Holiday Inn is the only hotel I'm aware of that has come up on a 3* bid in Cocoa Beach, but you are correct that you cannot bid for a specific hotel, only a zone and a quality level. The Holiday Inn in Cocoa Beach has been rated extremely poorly by two people who post to the board I host to discuss bidding. See http://pub4.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddingfrm90.showMessage?topicID=9.topic

To learn how to bid and to re-bid, this is discussed in the Hotel FAQ category at http://pub4.ezboard.com/fpricelineandexpediabiddinghotels.showMessage?topicID=2.topic

We stayed at this hotel with a Priceline bid last July, and it was fine. We loved the location and the pools. The room was average.....typical for Holiday Inn. It was clean, and suited our needs for the great price we received. I had never read the posts on the bad experiences (maybe that's a good thing!), but just wanted to say that our experience was a good one. We've also stayed at the Doubletree Resort, which is just down the road...paid twice as much. The room was nicer, but our kids liked the Holiday Inn better. :)

Anyone stay at the holiday Inn Express in Cocoa Beach?

I currently have reservations and have not stayed at a bad one. I like the breakfast in the morning and the rooms are generally very clean, most resorts are newer.

The room is average. It is on the beach. I don't think the holiday Express is on the beach? I have 2 nights over spring break for 75.00/night using entertainment rate.

I was one of the two who posted to Sheryl's site about this hotel, and I stand by my comments that this was one of the absolute worst hotels I've ever been to. I know others have posted that they thought it was fine, but I can't imagine we had the same type of rooms, as ours was so disgusting it didn't even come near "fine" in my opinion! Also, I doubt that we were given a bad room because of our Priceline bid, since they were very nice about offering us a Kidsuite if we wanted one (ugh!), then again, nicely, changed our room (ugh again!).
We ended up staying one night because there wasn't a vacancy anywhere in Cocoa Beach that night (11:00 p.m. with two toddlers), but we did so with great reluctance, and walked away from our weekend reservations first thing the next morning. Priceline refunded my money based on my description of this hotel.

Momothree - I'd be happy to pass along all the gory details if you'd like to e-mail me. If you are still considering bidding on this zone through Priceline, you should know what you could end up with!
Good luck...

Nicole,

I would e-mail you if I could figure out how I can look at your profile to get your e-mail address but apparently I am stupid!

Yes, I want the gory details including how much you paid. We are looking at spending 3 nights there with our three boys after our Disney Vacation. My primary objective is a hotel on the beach with a great pool that has clean rooms. We don't care if it is ordinary as we spend very little time in the room. This is supposed to be where we relax after our frantic Disney Days so I don't want any hassles!

My e-mail is pamb123@yahoo.com. Thank you soooo much!

We will be at this hotel Sat, Sun and Monday. Then 2 days Disney then the 3 day bWonder. When we get back, I'll let you know what we thought of this plase. Our priceline bid was $40+$25bonus.....spruce
