Can you please tell me

1) Is there boardwalk activity and is it fun filled?

2) How late does the boardwalk stay open?

Thanks

The Boardwalk or the Pier? Maybe they're the same thing?

Either, we are not drinkers so we are not much into the bar scene, but I am not sure what else there will be to do at night....

thanks

At night, I'm no help. We popped over to the pier last month. There's a shop, a restaurant, arcade and a bar at the end of the pier. You can fish from it.

***~~~FLASHBACK~~~***

Good Grief! I haven't seen that in years. I don't know if it is the same place that was there back in '88, but the colors and view are the same. (how could a view change, right!?!LOL) I used to work at Chevron where A1A splits and the owner took us all out one night. I don't remember much, though.

Sorry I'm not any help, OP. Since they turned Brassy's into a post office and you don't drink, I don't know what you could do at night. You could wander around in Ron Jon's or get a tattoo around the corner. ;)

When we went on a cruise in Feb, we ate at a place at the docks for the cruise lines. For the life of me I can't remember the name, but they had really good food and a live band at night. If the pier in CB doesn't have a band, you could ask this question on the Cruise Line board and I'm sure they could give you the name of the place. It really isn't that far from cocoa beach.

My family and I spent the day in Cocoa Beach after the Disney Cruise last November to use up some time, rather than sitting at the airport. I thought it might be a good way to spend 3-4 hours. Don't waste your time. We went to RonJon's and spent about an hour there, my 12 year old loved it, then decided to go the the pier (or boardwalk, I'm thinking they must be the same thing). Nothing was open and the beach was deserted. Mind you, it was at least 70 degrees but there was no one in sight at 11 a.m. Scouted around for a person, any person, could only find janitors cleaning out the barrooms from the night before. Ended up taking a tour of a local timeshare because the "recruiter" was the ONLY person we saw for more than 20 minutes at this pier area. Turned out okay, I toured, the kids and my friend spent the day at the resort beach and pool about 5 miles away and we were treated to lunch. Anyways, to make a long story short...don't waste your time going to Cocoa Beach. If you have more than 4 or 5 hours, maybe the Space Center would be an idea though.

Thanks...we are just staying there the night before we go to KSP after that we will be heading to WDW and then to the HRH

Howling Howie,

I hope it's not that bad!! We are planning on spending two days at Cocoa Beach in November. We will fly in on Thanksgiving Day and arrive in Cocoa Beach in the late afternoon. We plan to stay at the Doubletree, maybe take a walk on the beach, have a buffet dinner at the Doubletree. The next day we are planning on going to KSC and then having dinner at Marlin's on the pier and then going to Ron John's. The next morning we are leaving for WDW. Does that sound like too much time at Cocoa Beach?

PNELSON, we were there the weekend following T'giving weekend and literally no one was in sight. The bars and restaurants were deserted at 11 - 11:30 a.m. There were some signs about opening up for lunch, etc. but there were no people anywhere. RonJon's was fun for the kids, expensive, but fun "window shopping" for surfboards, etc. We even tried to get a pole and bait for my teenager but even the very small tackle shop on the pier was closed. Felt like a ghost town to me.

To answer your question though, a walk on the beach and dinner at the hotel followed by a day at KSC seems okay. It's my understanding that KSC can take 3/4 of a day anyways. There's also a DQ for ice cream down the street for after dinner. We really wanted to do KSC but I didn't want to rush it.

Let me know if I'm way off base here and for some reason we just hit a really bad day. I can't imagine this because the weather was really nice and all.

Brenda
