Coast to Coast -- finish over 16min/mi?

My husband and I just ran the WDW Half this past weekend and are planning to do the Disneyland half later this year to get our Coast to Coast medals. I'm a little worried, though, after seeing some people comment that we may not have "officially" finished if our pace was over 16 min/mi (which it was). Does runDisney actually check this when determining who is eligible for Coast to Coast status? More specifically, have any of you out there received a Coast to Coast medal after a 16+ min/mi finish? I would think that if we crossed the finish line (before the "final" person and confetti finish), received a medal, and have an official finish time that we'd be good to go. :confused3

If your time survives the cut and yor are able to print your finisher certificate in a few days then you should be OK. On the other hand, if your time disappears before the certificates are ready to go, then there is a good chance you are not counted among the finishers. How far over were you?

I can't get the results page to load right now but our finish time was 3:47:something, so around a 17:18 pace. We started in corral K, so we were never anywhere near the balloon ladies. It was about a half hour after we finished that the last person crossed.

You are in the neighborhood of the edge. Hard to say where you will fall once the clean up is complete. I hope you will be safe. Fingers crossed

I think you should be fine. My fiancee and I were slightly over pace on the full marathon in 2013 due to stopping in a line for photos at the 26 mile marker and Mickey at the finish line, but still received our Coast-to-Coast medal with no issues in September. The time requirement comes into play only from the last person forward, and I believe it's more about re-opening the course in a timely manner than anything else. Just as you were able to receive your Donald medal this past weekend while being over the time, you should be able to receive your Coast-to-Coast medal provided you finish ahead of the cutoff in Disneyland.

ETA: Reading the Coach's post above, I will say that your best course of action is to use the "Contact" section of the runDisney website to e-mail or call them about an official answer before you go spending your money. Keep in mind that they are busy this weekend with the Tinkerbell Half Marathon, so they may not be able to get back to you right away.

Hopefully you are in fact ok!

Phew--looks like we're okay. The finisher page went live and I still have an official time. I'll probably still email runDisney just to be safe before we register (especially since we both want to do the Dumbo challenge and that's no small chunk of change). Thanks to you both!
