Coach Purses at Target!

Heading to our Target soon, wonder if they'll have any? Not that I need a new purse, just really curious now!

A question for those of you excited by this. Given that the purses may sell at exactly the same price, what makes it attractive to you to buy it at Target rather than the Caoch store or your local department store?

I have to run to check it out. I really could care less if the bag is the Coach for Target or just Coach. The designer still has the name on it, so they are not going to make something totally out of whack from the rest of their line.

I find it amusing that I get more compliments from my "richer" friends on my $21.95 Isaac Mizrahi for Target shoes than I do on my $500+ authentic Manolos.

what exactly is the appeal of these purses? I know Coach is leather and of reasonably good quality, but other than that, why would you spend $329 for a purse?

I love my Coach bags. DH only lets me buy them at the Coach Outlet, but even still I love them. That said, I dont think I could spend $125 (what my last Coach bag cost at the outlet) for a purse in Target. If I am going to splurge and indulge in my 'expensive' handbag fetish, I want the 'experience' of buying that handbag. I don't want it put on the conveyor belt at the check out and thrown in the plastic bag along with the cat food, ya know?

I talked to the accessiories manager at our local STarget. She had never heard of coach at any Targets...and no plans for getting any in because their stock is "set" for at least another month. They "re-set" late Oct.

i'm pretty sure they aren't going to be in every store anytime soon. where i live there are 2 super-targets and 4 regular ones within a half hour drive and the newest store that is opening next week (the super where my hubby is currently working). so far only one store had them, even hubby brand new store had none yet.
i'm a bit confused that there are so many people on this thread who don't believe it, like anyone (myself included) would make up such a thing.

Lowie, I saw the D&B purses at my Target in Coral Springs. I think some people thought I was making it up, but it's the truth. Our Target has them.

Just for kicks I did a "Coach" search on target.com.... all I came up with was some Sony Playstation games and outdoor lanterns.

Hmmm... how would those look on my arm?

I already spend a TON of money when I go to Target. Now with them selling Coach and D & B. I better not tell my DH.

Just got back from our SuperTarget. Here is what the store manager told me:

Starting in Late October, Early November, Target will be carrying a line of fine "Italian" designer bags. The manager did not know which line is to be carried. It is his understanding that the Powers To Be are still deciding. (seems weird, as it doesn't leave a whole lot of time to make a decision, order and get them in stores.)

However, He was sure that Target had decided that the stores will NOT carry Coach.

There are stores on the East coast that are test marketing the different bags to help them decide which designers will sell in a Target.

So, ladies - if you see Coach in Target, at least according to the manager in our store - grab it because there won't be any more.

And I have absolutely NO idea how knowledgeable our store manager was - so take it for what it is worth
