Sit up straight. Take a deep breath and sit up straight please.

Thank you. :)

Anyone else have absolutely horrible posture? I look like the Hunch back of Notre Dame! I'm sitting up straight now, but in about 1 minute, I'll be slouched over again. If you're slouching, let this thread remind you to sit up straight. :teeth:

I'm slouching.
I can't not.
It hurts to sit up straight.

Earlier my stomach had sunscreen on it, and because of my bad posture, my stomach was sticking to the computer desk.

I have horrible posture.
Especially in school, those chairs are terribly uncomfortable.

My grandma always reminds me that I do, and to stand up straight.

Hilary, I know it hurts my stomach after a while.

Anytime. :)

I'm doing you all a favour! My grandmother slouched and she is *literally* a foot shorter because she is so hunched back.

I have good posture.
I cant slouch. I can try, but not succeed. (sp?)

The desks at my school have these bars underneath them on the sides, and some at the front, so I can stick my feet up in them and basically be laying down at school.
And the science class had these huge open desks I could shove my feet in.

i slouch so much when i sit up my back is like owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww and im hunching for like five minutes till the pain stops thanks for the reminder

Thanks , i needed that !
haha .

and i lay down in school all the time too .. sometimes LITTERALY

one time this year i raised my hand i told my teacher it was nap time and me & a bunch of the kids in the class got on the ground and used our books as a pillow (:

In elementary school we had the desks with the little metal "cubbies" in them and I'd stick my legs in them and sit.

I was just thinking about this yesterday when I was doing this meditation video.
You had to sit up straight and I'm sitting there aching in my back.

Ever since yesterday I've been walking a lot straighter and trying to sit up with better posture.

School is going to be horrible, because the seats are so umcomfortable.

I'll try. I always have my elbow on the desk right by the keyboard and then put my head on top of my hand. It's so weird. I'm always bent over.

We have that too.
Like there's a bar to hold books underneath the desks, and we all usually put our feet on them.
So of course when ya do that, you get so comfy and then end up slouching.

In Art class last year, we had the tall tables that have the piece that you can lift up for a better angle drawing.
Anyways, we never lifted that up.
But I would always lean back and bend my knees so my knees were resting against the table and then I'd rest my art history textbook on my thighs and start copying notes.
I also did this in Social Studies, but sometimes I had one knee bent with the other crossing over.

I did that also, but in my geography and english class.

I tend to also sit in Indian position or the "Criss Cross Apple Sauce" position to. That usually gave me a better posture.:p

I sit cross legged a lot too. Mostly in front of the pc. It's not good for me, my knees are getting weak from sitting like this so much, and then when I go to work and stand for long periods of time, it feels like they're going to fall out from underneath me.
At school, I usually only do it in casual classes like music, or when nothings going on .

In Music we either had to sit straight up or stand on the bleachers.
I'm trying so hard not to slouch right now.

I had basic 'You have to take this course or else' music.
So it was sitting around playing the keyboard in a classroom.
