Just thought I'd post to say we're still not so patiently waiting! My sis needs to fly from Bradley to somewhere in FL for our July vacation. I told her she should be all ready with the flights she want so that she can just book when the fares are released without waiting to think it over.

Who else is waiting?

I feel your pain! We're going down in June and have been waiting for them to post their schedule beyond June 9. I've never heard of such a thing. I called them on this and they said they should have the remainder of June posted by the end of February (at the earliest!!!??). You're probably looking at mid-March for your July dates. All I can say is their rates better be pretty low to keep waiting like this.

This is standard practice for many of the economy airlines. No airline sets their final flight schedules more than four or five months in advance. The major airlines do allow you to start booking against projections instead of actual flights schedules, but then will continue to change your reservations until their final flights schedules are released, which you may feel is better or worse. (If you feel it is better, you should fly one of the major airlines. If you feel it is worse, you should wait for Southwest.)

Actually Air Tran posts their schedule into September I believe. We usually fly southwest or air trans - like both equally.

I was able to get 97.00 pp including all taxes from Detroit to Orlando for our May trip......I jumped on it very quickly...Hang in there

Our dates are there for May 28th through June 3 ,but the cheapest I have found are $94 one way!! ;) I am going to wait out a DING! :thumbsup2

They have not failed me yet!!! :wizard: :wizard:

Last year we flew in May for $49 one way!!! I purchased in April! So I am trying to be patient!!

We are flying to Tampa Thursday on a Ding....$46 one way from St.Louis!

Hang in there!! :goodvibes

I fly out of Bradley and Know what you mean i waited and waited for Fares in April/May to come out and then it was only $125 which was too high for me. But they lowered some and then I got a Ding for $49 and $44 each way. Hang in there they will come through for you!

We've been discussing this over on the Transportation board. After some analysis, it appears it might be the 10th. I think we should see something no later the 17th. I'm waiting for July 1 or 2, whichever I like better, and returning July 13. My goal is to get RT flights for <$200/pp.

Yeah, same with me. I've been watching those Dings and it's tempting to wait it out and hope to get those great fares beyond June 9th. But I've resigned myself to purchasing at (hopefully) under $200/pp, then later getting the Ding and getting a credit. Without any penalty charges, seems like a win/win situation!

Can you explain how that works with a ding after you have already booked your flight and paid a higher fare?

The best way to do this is (you have to have Ding downloaded on your computer) when you hear the Ding, check to see if your flights come up. Go about like you're going to book it, go all the way to the payment screen. Before you pay for it open up a new internet window, go into Southwest's travel center and click on "cancel air itinerary" (or something like that.) Put in the confirm number of your previous flight and bring it up. Cancel that air reservation. Go back to the window with the Ding fare, click on "View and Apply Tickletless Travel Funds," put in the previous confirm number. Apply the funds from the old fare. The balance will be kept for future use. Just make sure you save that old confirm number somewhere. I keep mine in a Word document on my PC with the amount and confirm number and expiration date.

I'm waiting too. I keep checking every morning, afternoon and evening. I must be nuts!!!
