Thinking of you all tonight! Just watched "Enchanted" with the family.
How does she know that you love her? ***** starts dancing down the street *****

And I'm sure that most people on this thread think I will have some witty comment for how the voting process went in the final hours.... but I'm biting my tongue.... hahahahaha.

And..... why am I up so early? Is Dunkin Donuts even open yet?

THERE YOU ARE HMF! I'VE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR YOU!

I've missed you lately.....seems like we both missed all the crazy voting Drama (said with a southern twang) last night! Yikes.

I wonder if that would be grounds for 'voting irregularity' and the sponsor just picked who they wanted? Oh, I don't EVEN want to think about that! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I've been busy trying to figure out a bunch of stuff with school and work. But I've missed the my fleagle family and yummy pancakes!

That would be truly unfortunate.

Goodmorning Everyone and Happy Easter!

Seems like I missed all the fun last night! I woke up this morning and after we followed the bunny trail of eggs down the stairs and dove into some chocolates and bunny shaped ring pops for breakfast, I fed my own addiction to checking the DreamCMO site. It said voting was closed......so imagine my surprise when I checked the board to see that several pages worth of stuff got posted last night. :scared1:

:surfweb: Coffee in hand I read and read and read......Oh my, what a nightmare! Thanks for the running totals 3guysandagal, that was a very helpful 'play by play'! (by the way.....my 2 year old LOVES Lightning McQueen....nice avatar)

Well, I'm sure that any voting mishaps have been quickly, honestly, and efficiently noted and rectified. Right? Right? Right? I SAID RIGHT??????

Sure they were. You know, I have to refer back to Catotigger's earlier post about all the discrepancies during this love fest with Disney! It's a shame, really.

My comment about Disney has ALWAYS been (and I seriously cannot tell you how many many times I've said this) "Disney always gets it right!"

Well, I feel like when you buy that item as seen on an informercial and you think it will change your life. And then when you get it you realize that it's just another gadget that has it's own set of imperfections. It's not as pretty and perfect as you thought, hoped, or dreamed. Darn it! I really thought
that Disney was "flawless"! Gulp...guess not. :upsidedow

Ok all, must get back to children now....Dawson is face deep into a chocolate bunny.

Time to celebrate Easter! Be back later!

How is your nursing school application/interview process going? You find out April 16th, right? (I think I was paying attention) I make it a point to put all important dates for my kids on the calendar.

Still waiting to hear about school, April 16th is the date I should hear back, it is like the CMO contest all over again! :rotfl:
I did get one small setback though.... a friend of mine that currently goes to the school I applied to took me on a tour and introduced me to several members of the faculty. I met the Bursar and she did inform me that the day program was already full, but I could still be accepted and just wait-listed. So I was a big saddened to hear that.... but all isn't lost..... she did tell me that if I do get wait-listed I can take the "general-ed" courses at one of the local community colleges and then once I come off the wait-list I would only have to concentrate on my nursing courses at that point. So.... that was a bit of good news.

But I've already decided that even if I don't get accepted I'm going to start taking courses at one of the local community colleges and just re-apply.

As far as the job front goes, still no bites..... it seems like a lot of the local hospitals and nursing homes have quite a few positions available for CNA work (I got my state license in December) but I can't seem to get a call back from anyone. So I keep pressing on..... thankfully I still have my unemployment to fall back on.... but that runs out the begginning of May. :scared1:

Good morning everyone and Happy Easter! He is risen and so we celebrate!

"Finalist Prize Winners will be notified by e-mail and U.S. Mail on or about March 23, 2008."

Looks like 3 people should be receiving the "Prize Egg" sometime today. What a great treat to add to a wonderful day!

I bet Kenny would be enjoying this.:rotfl2:

And yes, Kenny would have something to say about all this!

Boy, that was insane wasn't it? I fell asleep early to get some rest for today and missed all the fun. That happened last year too. The voting links were still up long after the contest was over. I think the statcounter will take care of the voting mishap.

It does look like Careerbuilder could have done a better job of managing this contest, too many snafus outlined earlier. You'd think they would have learned something from the "Get Goofy Series." Far too many mistakes. Personal choice is one thing, but listing 100 vs 50 megs is too easy to catch and correct.

Okay, so what if that's not a real count? What if it just adds "x" votes per second? What if they are doing this just to mess with us?

What if I've gone over the edge, and have lost all touch with reality?

The vote stats appear to be legit. I see some stattracker code on the page. You are also right that the time code is based on 2008-3-23 11:59:59 GMT+08:00. The thing is, the clock ticked down and zeroed out right on time. The program just didn't stop. I don't think that's really anything. The bigger issue is the continuing vote count. I'm sure the votes are recorded by time, they'd almost have to be. They'll just go back and cut off anything after 11:59:59.

I believe it was accurate, when I speed voted that time, the counter reflected my increase in voting. Perhaps people on the west coast or Hawaii or something just kept voting until they were blocked from doing so. I wouldn't blame someone for voting just in case.

Oh, I'm sure that late votes aren't going to count. It's just such poor planning. I'm guessing that marketing doesn't have much of a budget for this contest.

Poor planning, indeed!

I could see this as being a possible issue if somebody wanted to make it one. What if they stopped voting for their CMO while others kept on voting.

For some of us, this whole contest was fraught with "issues" -- the manner in which the deadlines were handled is just too much to take!!!

Just one more example of a poorly executed contest by the sponsors! Here are some examples:

-poorly written rules that needed an extensive technical editing.

-inconsistent info about size of video (50 or 100mg?).

-lack of server capability to receive videos on last day of entry.

-inability of judges to follow the poorly written rules in choosing top 20 then top 10.

-lack of creativity in designing the contestants' voting pages. (Really - with all the d-sponsors' characters, and the graphic artists at both sponsors' companies, they couldn't come up with 10 different "parties" - they could only come up with 5?).

-limited information provided on those sites for each candidate - only updated 2 times in 3 week voting period.

-press releases put out after about 2 weeks of the 3 week voting period. How helpful!

-now, the contest continues to count UP time and votes after 11:59:59 pm EST.

Okay, now holding up Flabbergasted Sign!

(Sarcasm Alert) I'll be happy to add a few as well........the rules stated that the "Content of Online Entry video clip is limited to an audio commentary by entrant describing why he/she would be the perfect candidate for the position of CMO. Music cannot be included in any Online Entry submitted. Any Online Entry submitted with music will be disqualified."

When I think of how many sets of rules I had printed and highlighted and religiously (Easter Sunday pun intended) followed as I was not willing to risk being disqualified.....the no music thing, the requirement for commentary describing why you would be perfect, the type of file that would be accepted (for those of us who were non-techies, this was a real learning experience)......I literally poured over those rules to make sure I was crossing every t and dotting every i.

And, by the way, the clock counted UP on the original deadline date as well, I have come to the conclusion that I was probably not even in the running in the first place!

Thank you cato, thought I was losing it:rotfl2:

This is just crazy! I'm so glad 3guysandagal and madbrad76 are here! I'd think I was going crazy if you guys weren't posting the same things I'm thinking!

I was here before midnight, did my ssssssllllllllllooooooowwwwww voting and thought I was almost alone, seems I gave up on this thread a few minutes too early. I am almost glad I wasn't here......it would have reminded me of the original deadline date and the clock counting up then too and not accepting videos and me crying and hands shaking and, and, and, well, it just soooooooooo wasn't fun or feeling very Disney.

I just can't stop watching it count up...how sad is that? ;)

Its one of those "driving by an accident and have to look" moments isnt it?
And you are right...no one will notice until monday.

What if I've gone over the edge, and have lost all touch with reality?

What about if I am vicariously losing my mind THROUGH you as I read your posts! Sure wish I would have been here with you guys.......I most definitely would have gone over the edge though......but Cat, didn't we gone over the edge with all of this a few pages ago?? ;)

Calliaz...
I am sure that something will be "resolved" eventually.
Sure has got to make you wonder though....hmmmm hops away....quietly.

The voting seems to have slowed down, but someone is still out there voting. Whether or not the votes will count, who knows. We shall see. Maybe Donald (the duck) has developed some evil plan to mess up the voting see he can say the whole thing was a fraud!!!

I have lost my confidence at this point, maybe this is their way of just being able to hand pick the top 3???

MOST IMPORTANTLY THOUGH...........HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!! This day is WAY WAY WAY bigger than any Disney contest!!!

Going to Mass now............Easter Bunny has done his thing.....have a blessed day!

Happy Easter friends!!! :grouphug:

3guysandagal hoppity hops into the thread over numerous candy wrappers...
Bunny ears twitch and little pink nose wiggles to the smell of chocolate permeating the room...mmmmmm

Anyone know what time the voting actually closed?
Looks to be between 6:38 and 7:00 (as the disboard clock seems to be about 14mins behind) and about 492,000 votes +/-.
Thats about 6,500 votes after the "official" close.
In the words of Ricky Ricardo..."Youve got some 'splaining to do Lucy!"

Good morning all and Happy Easter!!!!

I was trying to do vote updates every hour but I was called away on a job. It looks like Justin joined me for a little while. Here are the latest vote counts...

5:38 AM (CST) - 491,884

Someone out there really wants this Dream CMO job!!!

Thanks for keeping the vigil Madbrad!

We can all finally rest now. It looks like someone from Disney has woke up and checked their Dream CMO website.

Like I said in an earlier post..."Well, lets see how the voting went last night...OH MY GOD!!!!"

Once again, good luck everyone. Hopefully those for those of you who made an effort to win our votes, all your hard work will be worth it.

Yes, good luck to all, lets hope this did not turn any tables.
I voted about 50 times after midnight so hopefully...

Goodmorning Everyone and Happy Easter!

Thanks Mrs Fleagle, on both the play by play and the new avatar.
Had to find something to use and my boys just LOVE Lightning.
They are currently glued to the Wii system playing "Cars".
Heck, even I like the game!

Only time will tell what happens next.

Happy Easter all!

Wow - I lost my bet that sponsors wouldn't figure anything was wrong until Monday. I guess there's one person paying attention to the contest! ;)

On a new tack, I'm wondering why they would not want people to know the top 3 as soon as possible? Wouldn't those 3 be promoting the continuing contest, and trying to get other people to GO to the parks to watch the contest? And of course to spend money? Wouldn't that be better for the sponsors than several weeks of silence? Just curious.

P.S. :wave2: Hey AnnDisneyFan (one of my longest buddies) and 3guysandagal (one of my newest buddies)! :wave2:

And thanks to madbrad76 (another new buddy) for keeping the count going all night :thumbsup2

HMF and Mrs. Fleagle - so glad you were here - sorry I missed you.

Come on HMF! Mrs. Fleagle and I commented - we want to hear what you have to say!! :rotfl:

Cat

Thanks Cato!
That was my parents one and only trip to WDW. I was 8.
I have used the parental units thing for quite a few years now, because of the coneheads on SNL.
I loved that show way back when, when the classics were on it.
Bill Murray, John Belushi, Dan Akroyd, etc.
So many of them went on to bigger and better things, and some destroyed themselves (RIP John)
The Blues Bros is still one of my fave movies.

Hi everybody! HAPPY EASTER!!!!!
Cupcakes for all!!! :goodvibes
